Because that’s how global trade works. You go to the market that can supply the best quality at the best price for your size order.

The US also imports from Europe and Canada that chemical, does that mean US cannot make this “easily” manufactured? No.

And how much “bleach” makes 1000 tons of explosive precursor?

Turkey, Israel, Pakistan, US, Russia also have imported amounts of it.

Maybe Iran is about to go on a major arms expansion campaign and needs as much as it can and needs it fast. You simply don’t know. That’s why global trade is a thing.

I wuz just sayin having worked in the industry where I know ammonia is made from natural gas and then bleach made from ammonia. And then it’s just high school level work to precip perchlorate from bleach.

I mean Iran is sitting on an ocean of natural resources.

How can it be that basic chemicals are being imported all of a sudden.

At industrial level, you wouldn’t derive sodium perchlorate from bleach, you would use electrolysis instead.

Again, China is the biggest producer/exporter and like many things with China they can “dump” onto international markets and provide competitive pricing.

So if IRGC can get 1000 tons quicker and cheaper than a factory in its own country it will do that. It’s that simple.

I doubt Iran can compete toe to toe with China’s massive industrial base in export areas that China is worlds leader. Iranian factories are a drop in the ocean compared to the Chinese industrial sector.

these subsonic ASCMs are useless against any decent naval force

Houthis fired hundreds of them in salvos against US navy on dozens of occasions and didn't even get one hit
