In Iran (and Turko-Iranic countries around), people have huge egoes, they will rather burn their own house down than accept their mistake. This worked brilliantly in imperial ages because such stubborn and egomaniac populations would thrash enemies in battles but its not working anymore.

The Iranian Navy has released footage of speedboats patrolling the Strait of Hormuz. The video shows several speedboats of an unknown model moving in a line through the strait.
