Iran Unveils New Domestic Coast Guard Vessels
Iran unveiled and commissioned ten domestic coast guard and guidance vessels during a visit by President Massoud Pezeshkian to the Persian Gulf port city of Bushehr.
On Thursday, February 13, Pezeshkian visited the Shahid Mahallati Shipyards, where he unveiled ten vessels manufactured by the company and oversaw their integration into the Iranian Navy fleet.
During the ceremony, the company announced the start of manufacturing six firefighting vessels
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Ali Darabi, CEO of the Shahid Mahallati Shipbuilding Complex. He said that the company has the capacity to manufacture, repair and overhaul more than 200 large, medium and small vessels per year.
The company, he added, has managed to build, repair and renovate dozens of ships belonging to the Iranian armed forces.
On Thursday, President Pezeshkian also visited Iran Marine Industrial Company, also known as SADRA.
As one of the largest offshore oil and gas project contractors in Iran, SADRA is active in the fields of engineering services and shipbuilding, construction and installation of oil terminals and offshore oil and gas facilities, as well as coastal protection and dock construction.
