There might be ideological difference but the goal would the same, namely survival as an independent state. DPRK acted decisively to achieve that, but Iran unfortunately didn't.DPRK never had similar situation of MEK traitors with so much power
and you cannot compare DPRK society to Iranian society or government, they are totally different
I not familiar with iranian internal politic and MEK and other terrorist groups, but surely DPRK's program must have been known, either through espionage or satellite imagery etc., just like Iran's was known. But DPRK decided to push forward no matter what.
I do recall from long ago the arrogant comments of westerners (mostly americans likely) about how they don't even need to lift a finger because Russia and China will invade DPRK and depose Kim for them if they ever develop nukes. Or it will be so easy for the mighty american army to just march into DPRK with little fear and bring "freedom", if they ever look to be developing nukes.
We can see how that turned out today.
