Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

Can’t be completely ruled out. But IRGC killing IRGC doesn’t seem rationale. IRGC back then was a lot weaker then today. Thus you would expect to see more of such acts today rather than back then.

Since then Iranian aviation engineers have done a remarkable job keeping these dinosaurs flying with such limited budget. Both military and civilian aviation has drastically improved in Iran in last 25 years despite no significant amount of new planes.
the reformers were behind that

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to determine if helicopter crash happened they are dead. Odds are overwhelming negative to survive a helicopter crash.
Crash? Which ‘crash’?

This is stupid take by stupid girl, there is no percentage rate calculated for flights like this. This so called influencers are really bottom of the bottom.

I don't think it was an assassination.

Assassination of the president of Iran does not benefit anyone. Another person takes his place

Raisi was a candidate for Supreme Leader replacement.

This benefits liberals inside the most as he was a moderate conservative that could have likely garnered many votes from the establishment if succession was needed.

Now it looks more likely that a council emerges or in a catastrophic turn of events someone like Hassan Khomeini or Rouhani achieve the positon. In which case if that happens then like Gorbachev and Soviet Union, Iran would collapse sooner rather than later with either candidate.

the reformers were behind that

Reformers in 90’s were non existent in terms of power. And eliminating IRGC commanders wouldn’t help them gain more power in parliament since IRGC had not yet delved substantially into politics at the time.

It was more likely just lax maintenance protocol and bad decision making. All hallmarks of IRGC even today in Syria and Iraq.

Dismissing everything as “western propaganda” is a mental crutch you need to rid yourself of.

Raisi is one of the few remaining establishment figures that has obtained an adequate level of religious credentials and held a range of high level key government positions throughout his career. As well as attending the same seminary school as Khamenai in Mashhad to be elected Supreme Leader. And one of the few people who is under the age of 65 years old that has obtained all I have just listed.

Live image of the rescue groups on the ground.

The military need to get involved, these ground crews don't have any night vision capabilities.

He's a tough man and most importantly is his iman. If he's still alive, those two things alone will get him through IsA.

Not sure a helicopter development programme is the answer for a poor decision to fly in this weather ? Seeing what I am seeing - i am shocked that a professional pilot made the decision to fly in this weather.

This is unfortuante and sad for sure. A bade decision led to the death of so many people it seems.

Except it most likely isn't up to him to refuse to fly an issued flight. He can probably abort while in flight, that I would say is well within the scope of his responsibilities which is probably what happened. But when you're an employee at a governmental capacity of that level, it's almost akin to being a soldier. You get orders, you obey those orders no ifs, ands or buts about it. Besides having the ability to abort, he could voice concern to his superiors prior to flight, but if chain of command comes down as "must go", he really has no choice.

She's a nitwit. I'm honestly surprised anyone takes her seriously.

Raisi does seem to be more familiar with the power structure of the government and would make an easier transition than Mojtaba who is more unknown. One of the duties is to balance the various power factions within the country and Raisi should be more familiar with these elements than Mojtaba.

#Iran’s President, His Excellency Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ebrahim Raisolsadati has been killed in today’s helicopter crash in #Iran, as no survivor confirmation officially confirmed from the Iranian Government.

Our heartfelt condolences to our Iranian followers and the entire Iranian nation.
