It’s coming from CNN and most other legit news services agree a lot of fake news but a simple google check will show legit sites are reporting this

Chinese denial is expected and not evidence of this transaction not occurring.

By such logic governments whose embassies issue denials are automatically telling the truth?

Not saying the event in question is true, but Iran acquiring earth sensing satellite is not out of question, as Iran has acquired some officially from Russia already. And the alleged .5 meter resolution is not groundbreaking tech, when you have commercial satellite providers already providing the public <30 cm resolution.
