Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

this nuclear keyword is just a hogwash...Iran ain't building a bomb nor they have relevant infrastructure to build it now. ....real deal is strait of homez thats it.

The rest can be worked out if Iran give up nuclear program.
The true conflict between Iran and the U.S.–Israel—or between Iran and the Western world—is an ideological one. The issue of nuclear weapons serves merely as a "more convenient" public pretext.

The nuclear issue is Iran's trump card. Iran has consistently hovered in the ambiguous zone between "yes" and "no." This is the correct strategy.

Both a clear possession of nuclear weapons and a clear abandonment of nuclear weapons would be fatal for Iran.

That will allow yanks & Jews to destroy Iran in whatever way they want and to whatever extent they desire, in the fabricated name such as WMD they labeled you know who.

Actually possesion of nuclear weapons will be great for Iran as they will stop getting bombed. But there is no point living in ambiguos zone while being hostile to USA. Its clear they cannot make a bomb.

Common ground on certain topics has been achieved. Ceasefire is still up for two weeks so likely we will see more talks taking place in the upcoming days. It's uncertain if Islamabad will remain the venue.

4 decades of conflict cannot be resolved in one meeting but some positives have come from this first proper off ramp from Islamabad. Hopefully we can see some agreement being reached that ends this war.

One thing is for certain, Pakistan has emerged with somewhat of a win in terms of bolstering its own political ground amongst its allies and potential other partners. Potential defence pact with Qatar and Turkey. Saudi and Qatar pledging 5 billion to Pakistan. And finally that 10 billion dollar refinery being established in Gawadar

1. Whether or not to develop nuclear weapons is a political issue, not a technical one. The technology required for rudimentary nuclear weapons ceased to be classified information long ago; for a nation of Iran's stature, it presents neither technical difficulties nor financial hurdles.

2. Since the end of World War II, the fundamental global order has been defined by the strategic interplay among the P5 nations. For all other nations—those outside the P5—the central pillar of their national strategy lies in how they navigate and cultivate their relationships with these permanent members.

If you attempt to undertake an action to which all P5 nations are opposed, the inevitable consequence will be your own elimination. You must bear in mind that even the weakest among the P5 nations possesses a "nuclear fist" that is far more formidable than the combined nuclear might of every non-P5 nation on Earth.

Am not sure about this. UK nuclear might is at the least compromised that Americans could have a kill switch as they purchased from US and France whilst they do have a nuclear capability am not sure its more than some on the outside of P5

No Breakthrough but No Breakdown. US leaves offer on the table.
For Pakistan it was Massive - getting US and lran sit on a table - Face to face.

Will lran make a statement?

Pakistan was a facilitator, and helper in mediation and on that score Pakistan has done fantastically well, the talks from Pakistan's perspective went well because it does not own, or is responsible for the outcome. Only both "parties" are responsible for the outcome, and if they cannot come to terms, then that is on them, not Pakistan.

In the realm of nuclear weaponry, there are two key focal points:

1. The "True" Hydrogen Bomb.
Currently, this capability remains the exclusive domain of the P5 nations. Note that the term "true" hydrogen bomb here refers to a device with an explosive yield exceeding the megaton-TNT level—distinct from the "hydrogen bombs" often cited in political propaganda.
Both India and North Korea claim to possess "hydrogen bombs." However, they are far from achieving the caliber of "true" hydrogen bombs—with yields exceeding one megaton—that are held by the P5 nations.

2. Nuclear Weapons Readiness and Alert Status.
This refers to a nation maintaining a nuclear force that remains on high alert around the clock, capable of launching nuclear weapons at any moment.
In other words: if you launch a nuclear missile at me, I can guarantee that my own nuclear missiles will have already lifted off in retaliation before your missile even impacts.
This, too, is a capability currently possessed solely by the P5 nations. The three non-P5 nuclear-armed states—North Korea, India, and Pakistan—all require a preparatory period before they can launch nuclear weapons.

Now, you may re-evaluate the situation.

For Pakistani generals would have never imagined that with in few months of signing a pact they believed was 'merely a lip service to relive gullible Arabs of their oil money', they might have to fight a war against another one of its neighbors.
