Jakarta. Japan announced Thursday that it had agreed to roll out a grassroots grant worth approximately 23.2 million yen or $167,186 for Indonesia.


The grant would fund three small-scale community projects, two of which are related to healthcare. Japan would allocate 9.1 million yen of the grant to make overdue renovations at an Islamic boarding school in Central Java’s Magelang, including the construction of a new classroom.


The BanyuBening Islamic General Hospital -- which lies in the Central Javan sub-district of Ngemplak -- would get 11.5 million yen to purchase medical equipment for pregnant women and newborns. This hospital is also the only healthcare facility in the area to offer midwifery care.

The College Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) once released a list of the best schools based on the value of the 2022 Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK). This best school ranking includes 1,000 schools that have various regions in Indonesia.

For the best high school in Jakarta is SMAN 8 Jakarta. In 2022, the school located on Jalan Taman Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta received a UTBK score of 635,347.

SMAN 8 Jakarta is superior to Kebayoran Labschool High School which is ranked second with a UTBK score of 634,304. Previously, at UTBK 2021, SMAN 8 Jakarta finished second under SMAN Superior MH Thamrin who was at the top position at National Rank in 2019

SNPMB Committee: of the 800,000 Applicants Only 185,000 Received SNBP 2025​

KOMPAS.com - Chairman of the National Selection Team Responsible for New Student Admission (SNPMB) 2025 Eduart Wolok said, the number of National Selection enrollees Based on Achievement (SNBP) 2025 reached 800,000 people.

However, Eduart said, of the total registrants who will be accepted by SNBP 2025 only amount to 185,000 people. Please note that the SNBP 2025 will be announced on March 18, 2025."We announce on March 18.

There are almost 800,000 SNPB participants and the acceptable one is 185,000," Eduart said in the Online Socialization of UTBK-SNBT Registration Mechanism 2025, Monday (10/3/2025). Eduart then explained why the number of participants received by SNBP 2025 was only 185,000 people.

185,000 seats are the quota of all PTN (State Owned Universities / basically the best in Indonesia) for the SNBP line 2025He explained, the number is a quota that is provided by all public universities (PTN) for the SNBP 2025 line.

“That’s why the quota is provided. By PTN (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/ State Owned Universities) in our country, "he said.

Eduart also asked participants who did not qualify SNBP 2025 to not be discouraged and could try their luck to enter PTN again by registering a Written Examination of National Computer-Selection Based on Tests (SNBT).

Registration of SNBT, said Eduart, will be opened on Tuesday (11/3/2025) online through the official SNPMB page with the condition that it must have a permanent account.

"Of course there is still a second path, which is the UTBK SNBT line that we are currently preparing for the registration process that God willing from tomorrow until March 27," he said.

Eduart explained, the system between SNBP and UTBK SNBT has differences. If SNBP is assessed based on grades and achievements during school, while UTBK SNBT is based on joint exams.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released a report titled "Women and Men in Indonesia 2024" in December 2024

Data was obtained from the results of the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) March 2024, the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) February 2024, and the book Statistics of the State of Semester 1 of 2024 (State Staffing Agency).

The report shows the percentage of Indonesia's population in 2024 consists of 49.88% of women and 50.12% of men.

Based on statistics, the percentage of women aged 7-23 who are still in school is higher than men. Based on the level of education, at the junior high level to the top of the female population more who are still in school than men.

More women are graduating from college

This report reveals that there are more women who graduate college than men. The proportion applies both in rural and urban areas.

The percentage of women in urban areas who graduated from college as much as 14.08%, while men were 12.69%. While in the countryside, the percentage of women graduating college is 6.30%, while men are 4.86%.

While in high school levels both in urban and rural areas, there are more men who have high school diplomas.

JAKARTA – Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar announced that the professional allowance for teachers under the Ministry of Religious Affairs has increased by 700%, marking the largest increase in Indonesia's history.

He said improving teachers' welfare is one of the government's priorities in preparing Indonesia's human resources for the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.

"The enhancement of teachers' competencies through the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program, along with the provision of professional allowances, has increased by 700%, the highest in Indonesia's history," Nasaruddin said during the National Remembrance and Prayer event at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta on Saturday (August 1, 2026).

In addition to the increase in professional allowances, Nasaruddin said the government continues to strengthen the quality of religious education through various programs.

He noted that 5.1 million students under the Ministry of Religious Affairs have received assistance through the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP).

Meanwhile, 289,295 students at state religious higher education institutions have benefited from the Indonesia Smart Card for Higher Education (KIP Kuliah).

According to Nasaruddin, the government has also awarded scholarships to Indonesian students to pursue higher education in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

The scholarship recipients are expected to become future national leaders who promote religious moderation.

In terms of educational infrastructure, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has revitalized 556 madrasahs and religious schools, while constructing 352 new state madrasahs and 34 state religious higher education institutions.

The ministry is also advancing digital learning. Nasaruddin said 2,180 digital interactive boards have been distributed to 551 madrasahs to support teaching and learning activities.

According to Nasaruddin, these initiatives form part of the government's broader effort to develop high-quality human capital as a key investment toward realizing Golden Indonesia 2045.

"For us, these achievements are not the finish line, but rather a mandate to continue strengthening our service to the people, the nation, and the state," he said.
