That is correct. An Oct 7th style op was discussed with Iranian leadership many times by Sinwar but they were unconvinced and kept asking for postponement. Then when it happened they were unprepared and have been trying to play catch up every since.
 
Commentary on the stabbing incident yesterday in the British city of Manchester

A young man of Syrian origin named Jihad Al-Shami stabbed several worshippers at a synagogue in Manchester being killed by the British police. worshippers were killed, and three others were injured, one of whom was accidentally killed by British police gunfire.

No official statement has been made regarding the motives for the attack, but there are hints attempting to link it to the events in Palestine. This is possible, but if it is the reason, it is a mistake, even if the attacker's intention was to support our people.

Attacking targets of the occupying state is one thing, but attacking followers of the Jewish faith is something entirely different. Our struggle is with the occupying state, whereas Jews living outside Palestine should not automatically be considered targets.

It was necessary to clarify this because some, in their zeal to support Palestine, take misguided paths, causing harm when they intended to do good. Conscious resistance is essential.

Hamas tried to develop unity of fronts equation and activate it in real time.

And they gave clear warnings to the occupation forces to stay away from Al Aqsa compound. It was contingent upon Israeli behavior.

On paper everybody was prepared to enforce the equation but in practice they were not. Which proved costly to all parties involved. However, now we are living in a dynamic where everybody is taking the Israeli threat seriously, particularly Israel threat of being subjected to unprovoked debilitating strikes, but more importantly to a real threat of ground invasion/annexation that has been waved against all neighboring nations of Israel.

Syria + Lebanon will have to take that threat seriously. Egypt as well.

And Iran is now taking threat of war seriously after Israeli attack.

Imo, they will all work hard to prepare more effective deterrents now that is all said and done. And they all don't have as much to lose as they did before.

Trump demands a response from Hamas his plan, while accusing it of all evils and allegations, and even speaking of its extermination in Gaza. It is not, therefore, about a deadline, but rather a process of coercion toward surrender or annihilation, and it has never been known before that a mediator deals with one of the parties to a conflict with such aggressive bias toward the other side.
