At least 20 killed across Gaza as Israel intensifies attacks

Captured activists likely held in high-security Israeli prison
Omer Shatz, an Israeli international law expert at Paris’s Sciences Po University, says, unlike the jails where flotilla activists were held previously, this time those seized face a maximum security facility.
Shatz said the 500 or so Gaza activists could be held at Ketziot Prison in southern Israel. Ketziot is a high-security facility that doesn’t normally hold “immigration” detainees.
The activists may be held there because processing hundreds of people would be logistically difficult for Israel, said Shatz. However, he described Ketziot as being known for its harsh conditions.
There have also been recent proposals by Israeli officials – among them far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir – that flotilla participants be subjected to prolonged detention.
“There are serious concerns that activists may be treated more harshly than in previous flotilla missions,” said Israeli human rights group Adalah.

Editorial: It appears that the leaders of the Muslim world have been played by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. Though many Muslim governments, including our own, initially welcomed the 20-point Gaza ‘peace’ plan, when the reality of what it articulates — Palestinian surrender, Israeli impunity, colonial control of Gaza — dawned on them, clarifications began to pour in.
Other Muslim states, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkiye, have similarly been caught off guard by the American-Israeli sleight of hand. Reportedly, the Qataris asked the US to hold off on announcing the plan, a request that Washington clearly spurned.
