A new report from The Telegraph reveals that NATO is facing a critical shortage of explosives after much of Europe’s TNT supply was consumed in the bombardment of Gaza. Poland’s state-owned Nitro-Chem, the continent’s only large-scale TNT producer, is struggling to keep up with soaring demand.
Most large-scale munitions rely on TNT, and global production is now being outpaced by consumption. Nitro-Chem alone provides 90% of the TNT the US imports for weapons like the 2,000lb MK-84 “bunker buster” and BLU-109 bombs; arsenals that have been shipped to Israel in vast quantities.
These weapons have been repeatedly deployed in densely populated areas of Gaza, causing catastrophic civilian casualties and destruction, raising serious accusations that their use constitutes a genocidal campaign supported by NATO powers through arms supply.
