YESTERDAY: Around 20 Bedouin families, approximately 100 people, are forced to demolish their own homes in the village of A-Sir in the Naqab desert in order to avoid facing heavy fines by Israeli authorities.
The village of A-Sir was once home to around 1,600 Bedouin residents living in approximately 300 houses. To date, most of the community has been displaced, with 230 of the homes already demolished.
Israel’s ongoing efforts to displace Bedouin communities in the Naqab are accelerating, with many more villages currently facing immediate threats of demolition.
