We will have to wait and see how it turns out. But they have ambitions of their own and with this move they basically kicked us out of the region. The era of Iranian dominance in the M.E is over and now its Turkeys time to play the middle eastern version of game of thrones
Turkey cant think or act independently because it is owned/operated by Anglo-Jews who have ~50 % credit on its entire GDP. Turkey has no ideology or appeal to sell to Arabs. Their ethno-nationalism of "Turkism" is rather seen as a threat by the entire levant and (P)GCC.
IRI on the other hand is debt-free (<1%) so it acts and thinks independently. It also had the theocratic revolutionary ideology that atleast appealed to Secular and Shia Arabs or even some sunni entities like Hamas. Its anti-western resistance appealed to Russia and China to some extent as well. So whatever flawed policy Mullahs had, they have something that Erdogan's Turkey will never have.
