A US lawmaker has been captured on video invoking the atomic bombings of Japan’s Nagasaki and Hiroshima as an example for how to bring a “quick” end to the war in Gaza.
In a video posted on X, Tim Walberg, a Republican who represents Michigan in the House of Representatives, can be heard telling a town hall that the conflict should be treated like the Japanese cities were during World War II.
“We shouldn’t be spending a dime on humanitarian aid. It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Get it over quick,” Walberg said.

I honestly truly believe by years end Palestine is coming, I honestly believe it should be gradual be monitored by honest UN members to and yes I believe in demilitarized Palestine not for the sake of Israelis but for the sake of Palestinians, I want Palestine to thrive in the future to become a beacon of light. You guys need to start looking at this really serious this is France putting up the resolution it has a serious shot at happening I hope it’s binding perhaps if it is binding perhaps Hamas says ok we are done we will take our leaders abroad for a several years a decade and come back silently and retire

Governments restrict investment for national security reasons all the time. US entities are forbidden to own certain Chinese, Russian, Iranian and other stocks regardless of ROI. People avoid certain investments for ethical reasons regardless of ROI. You can always find alternative avenues for ROI.
When holding back investment is combined with denying market access to Israel-related companies, then the double whammy kills that ROI anyway.
Of course, the 'West' here refers, not to ordinary people, but to the Western governments which are controlled by Zionists and companies which support the Israeli killing machine. By now, even the most intransigent denialist would have to concede that, when push comes to shove, Western governments are more responsive to Israel than to their own citizens.
