Summary of the student uprising:
1- A student group at Columbia University decided that it would camp at the university in order to pressure the university to divest, (a group of measures related to not dealing with Israel, including financial investment and academic exchange),
2- The president of the university - Neamat Shafiq - in a historic decision summoned the police, under the false claim that he was in a violent state. Nearly 100 students from there and from Barnard University were arrested. Many students were suspended from the university and expelled from their housing (they were given 15 minutes to leave their homes).
3- More students and more universities (shown in the picture) joined in support of Columbia University students and in support of Gaza.
4- The White House denounced the imaginary violence (violence of students supporting Gaza!) and “anti-Semitism.”
4- Today, Columbia University closed its buildings and all lessons were held online.
5- Many faculty and administration members left the university and joined/supported the students. Lecturers from abroad decided to boycott Colombia in support of the students.
6- Columbia students voted in favor of divestment referendum (regarding not dealing with Israel. They were preceded by other students, including students from Harvard Law School).
Change is coming and it is on a path of no return.
Victory for Palestine.
