US + NATO can't be "massively building weapons" to fight this regional war against the resistance front, because its armories and weapons stores are low or empty- especially from supplying Ukraine and Israel many and critical weapons and ammunition- i do not think NATO or US can fight intensely for more than 1-3 months currently- they just dont have the manpower and resources (including weapons and ammunition) to execute such a war successfully now- and definitely not without a huge cost somewhere else, for e.g US interests and presence in the Pacific.

But these war profiteers HAVE BEEN making money from these wars since they started, so how is an escalation of the conflict to the visibly kinetic level going to negatively change the financial picture/benefits/resources of these war profiteers? If anything, it makes them more money if the entire resistance front fights US and NATO in a big war so they could actually be motivated to support this potential war you describe.

Firstly, I think what you are describing is the current situation in America where the massive production of weaponry is not practical. But, come to a 'war footing' like in World War II, America still has the capabilities to focus a large part of its economy for large wars. The country is essentially self-sufficient and perhaps the most strategically blessed country in the world considering human and natural resources along with the protection offered by two giant oceans and just two land borders and that too with friendly nations. But hopefully we will never have to test what I am saying here.

About your second paragraph: Yes, there is massive potential for the Military Industrial Complex in case of a global war but they are, even now, milking the Americans during the 'peace' time--the Russia-Ukraine war of the Israel-Palestinian conflict are making them large money but the American economy doesn't need to become a 'war economy'; to the American Establishment, some side-show wars like in Iraq or Afghanistan or Palestine or Ukraine are a sweet spot to be in: Benefits of both wars and peace!
