He didnt say the ICC is wrong, or incorrect - just that the "timing" is unhelpful. Same with Cameron. There are some MP's in Parliment who said it was "wrong" to arrest nethanyahu - but most of that was directed at complaining that Israel and Hamas are being treated equally by being in the dock at the same time, not that nethanyahu was "innocent".

As long as American Govt is standing with Israel they are and should feel invincible, America will fight and let its own people die for Israel, just take a look at this very thread, we have Americans here literally justifying killing civilians, collective punishment, war crimes, and have no problem with USA literally threatening UN/ICC and ICJ to protect Israel's doing in Gaza. Israel's existence is now by in large tied to existence of USA as super power and "they" will make sure that no other Power such as China, Russia or India become powerful enough to challenge that order, The EU will tag along because they know the dethroning of USA from Super power title means the EU's superiority will have to settle down as well.

Palestinians maybe the under physical oppression from Israeli's but its the American people who are now complete slaves of the lobby, they don't realize this or do anything about it because they care about abortion rights, LGBTQ rights and other national issues, but as long as they have leaders who support their political position, they (American's) don't care about Arabs or brown people in large, they will gladly re-elect Biden for that very reason, no issues with Biden's past statements about " If there was no Israel, we would create one " or democrats pro-war policies as long as pride parades are happening, trans-kids get their puberty blockers or celebs tweeting #BLM, but what Americans don't understand that their choice of Govt and President effects the whole world not just their internal problems.

Never underestimate the Opposition parties in many, if not most countries, to try to use whatever leverage they can get to bring down the existing govt or make it lose the next elections even by being obviously opportunistic and even unpatriotic. Trump is sharpening knives over Biden's foreign policy failures, especially starting the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, Yair Lapid and Gantz sense Netanyahu's fall, the Labor Party in Britain doing the same, and I won't bring up the recent Pakistani politics as that would annoy most of this forum

Anyway, the damage done to Israel by merely the ICC 'application' is huge and you are right it will make it harder for even the poodles like the UK to not appear to comply to some extent. Already Macron has shown his support to the ICC proceedings and that's not a small move! France maybe a B-grade power now but it is still a significant country; I tend to think if there can be one European Superpower that would be France.

Again you miss the point, China is rising but so is US and its power, plus in 10 years USA influence and economy will be much greater not to mention their military might, so until US growth comes to a complete halt or US suffers a major blow on International stage, I don't see US power diminishing.

This is not off-topic as I was saying that US is the only factor that is now protecting the Israel's brutal war in Gaza, the day US collapse or the US supports stop for Israel (which will never happen) Israel and its people will face a brutal reality and retribution from the neighbors, and Israel knows that and what its doing to its neighbors that is why they build nuclear weapons and have the Samson option.
As for my knowledge about the overall may not be great but its enough to understand what is unfolding right before my eyes, talk about yourself and your knowledge not others.

Two reasons why opposition Labour Party in UK have changed their tune:

1. Potential ICC indictments.

2. Large Muslim population who will almost vote as per Gaza single issue this year. They also are worried about losing younger white voters as well.

My local MP who voted for a ceasfire has sent me TWO BEGGING LETTERs explaining that she has always been for a ceasefire and to sidestep Labour's prior total support for the entity and vote for her as a person and her record on Gaza. I still do not think I can vote for her as she represents a party that was complicit in genocide of Gazans till very recently.

That changes a day after China shift its peaceful expansion trough only economy activities and starts gearing up friendly countries but first they have to be blunt about it consider usa and western world as enemy which they do not by some reasons known to them or at least they hide that sentiment really well and do not act upon it.
