The Palestine Mandate was not a colony like British India was: the Mandate was set up by the League and under the U.N. Charter the U.N. could not and can not void it. Saying the U.N. "did the dirty deed" is like saying the U.N. created Iraq - which was also a League set up by the Mandate.
