My friend. The world 'moves on', as I have said many many times in this thread. Who remembers the stains in history to the point of policy changtes? The Dresden Bombing? The Srebrenica Massacre? The Rwanda Massacres on mid 90s? The....

Remember: A few weeks ago--probably mid December 2024--I had mentioned that Iran's retrenchment, the Fall of Assad, the ceasefire in Lebanon were all probably attributed to the upcoming Trump Presidency. You disagreed with me by saying things like Trump's other issues. But I still think what happened in the Middle East in last 5-6 weeks were directly linked to Trump taking the office. Uninformed people here just don't understand: Despite the 'checks and balances', a US President holds a lot of power and the President acts per his/her own personal biases. America is not some Borg nation from Star Trek!!

The contours of the deal were not especially different than what President Biden had sought in May. But multiple people with insight into the process said that Mr. Trump’s win in November, along with the involvement of members of his incoming administration, were key parts in moving things forward.
