This is quite an interesting read and is on the front page of NY Times since yesterda! Two butchers are at odds because the path to power for them are conflicted and they are ready to sacrifice each other on their respective paths. Also to note, the tiny Arab/Muslim population in Michigan is enough of electoral factor for Biden to try to appear somewhat caring for the Palestinians, though this particular article doesn't cover that.

After 4 Months of War, Biden and Netanyahu Are on Different Timetables

The divergent goals of President Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are playing out as negotiators try to reach a hostage deal.

President Biden and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel each addressed the future of the battle in Gaza this week, speaking just a day apart but worlds removed from one another in a way that captured the essential tension between the two men after more than four months of fighting.

Mr. Netanyahu spoke of war and how it would continue even if there is a temporary cease-fire to secure the release of hostages, just “delayed somewhat.” Mr. Biden spoke of peace and how such a cease-fire deal could “change the dynamic,” leading to a broader realignment that would finally end the underlying conflict that has defined the Middle East for generations.

The disparity in visions reflects the opposing political calendars on which the two leaders are operating. Mr. Netanyahu has a compelling interest in prolonging the war against Hamas to postpone the day of reckoning when he will face accountability for failing to prevent the Oct. 7 terrorist attack. Mr. Biden conversely has a powerful incentive to end the war as soon as possible to tamp down anger in the left wing of his party before the fall re-election campaign when he will need all the support he can get.

At the same time, each has reason to think he may yet get a better deal if the other loses his post. Mr. Biden’s advisers are acutely aware that Mr. Netanyahu’s government could fall in response to the terrorist attack while the Israeli prime minister, who goes by the nickname Bibi, may prefer to buy time until November in case former President Donald J. Trump recaptures the White House.

“It’s absolutely fair to say Biden and Bibi are on different political timetables with respect to the Gaza war — and I think it’s an increasingly significant part of the equation,” said Frank Lowenstein, a former special envoy for Middle East peace under President Barack Obama.

Only Allah knows everything. I do know that both sides must show flexibility in their demands if there is to be meaningful progress, preferable a ceasefire for Ramadan at the very least.
Just because you say that doesn’t make it true. There will never be peace with continued oppression and injustices. If the root cause of the conflict is not solved, this will just keep going on. Stopping this genocide (war) is great and should be stopped. The problem still remains that this is only a temporary fix and doesn’t solve the issue of why it is happening. How many more Palestinians must die in future flare ups till they get their freedom, human rights and dignity?

As you said, this will just keep on going. Sadly.

I'm sure when the crusader occupation was 50 years in they thought the same

PALESTINIANS have suffered too much for the us to give up or break now, it's time to double down and supercharge the BDS movement and hunt Israel in every forum or institution

The crusaders were a reality, until they were not

These Arabs have no shame. They're brothers are being slaughtered and they choose to host the Midget Zionist Clown of Kiev....

If Pakistanis were Gora's, this is what our leader would look like on a begging tour. All the Pakistani liberals can now rejoice they have their own clown now.

And this is Israel’s choosing because their end goal is the entirety of Palestine without the Palestinians.

People are obviously more concerned with assigning fault and historical events than with resolving the current crisis. As I said, is it more important to be seen as right even if it means more death and destruction and suffering? That is the question for everyone here too, I suppose.

The main thing Hamas did was speed up what was going to happen to Gaza over the next 75 yrs. And because it happened over 4 months instead of 75 yrs, the world was able to see its brutality and genocide. The cost may have been unbearable for the people of Gaza, but if not for the conflict, the same atrocities would have been committed in the dark over the next the 75 years.

The problem is that people like you are blind to the facts on the ground. You can choose to ignore the reality of what is and why it is happening but it will bite you every time.

Oppression and injustices lead to resistance. This is what needs to be solved. Period.

Think about it like this, the Palestinians are making the sacrifice to both free themselves from brutal apartheid occupation and free Al Aqsa for all of us

The PALESTINIANS can suffer like the Hindus for a thousand years and lose millions of their people over time

Or they can fight for freedom and independence and we can support them now, the actions of Israel should not be a deterrence, it should be a motivator that freedom and independence is essential

It exposed Israel for the pariah state it has always been. Their media manipulation and the extent of their infiltration in western political systems will not save them. Times are changing and people are waking up to this cancer.
