Some Israeli bloggers are already relishing the thought of the cease fire by interpreting the US draft of the cease fire UNSC Resolution. The language of the cease fire will be most important. While Hamas is not hypocritical and openly said that they would launch another October 7 in future, the Israelis can't be trusted: They get their hostages back, stop actions in Gaza for a few weeks, then, with no hostages in the equation, go with all their might into Gaza. And the language of the cease fire should be and probably is being watched by the Russian UN Diplomatic for potential Russian Veto.

I think the language should include deployment of UN or mutually acceptable forces in Gaza to prevent another Israeli assault.

Russia vetoed the US resolution calling for a temporary pause and release of Israeli captives. Russia says US resolution should call for actual and permanent ceasefire.

So you agree with Russia's decision then? The whole point of the UN is to reach some compromise nothing will ever be perfect because there are simply too many countries with their own interests and agendas.

This resolution has been revised and tweaked several times before the vote. It was a good opportunity to put the brakes on everything. Doesn't mean it would've been the end-all, but at least we could've worked from there. Now, without any yardstick everything will just continue which apparently doesn't bother you.

Resolutions have no impact on actual ceasefire talks. Those are stop ongoing with all mediator parties including Qatar, Egypt, and the US. So far, Israel is rejecting a ceasefire that would to a permanent ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Israel is holding it up. Which apparently doesn't bother you.
