You make it sound like that's a bad thing. That's right, abiding by international laws is the right thing to do especially if the consequences could be all-out war and the possible ruin of the country's economy and stability. You might think that's an exaggeration, but it isn't. You might think it's selfish or whatever, but that's what leaders who are at the highest levels have to consider first, the safety of their own people and country.

At the same time, Egypt is doing everything it can short of a military intrusion to end the genocide and bring relief to the Palestinian people. Mediating left & right between Hamas & the zionists & the US with the help of Qatar. You mentioned the US building the floating pier; well, Egypt told the zionist since the US was dropping aid into Gaza, it would do the same thing and did and still is. C-130s dropping aid all the time.

dropping aid is good (when it doesn't land on Palestinians and kill them). but doing everything it can ?! covertly sending weapons to Hamas via tunnels in Rafah is the least you could do.

And let's not forget how Hamas gets any and all of its materials to fight the zionist. Egypt could easily squash every single means if it wanted to, in a couple of days if need be. But it chooses to turn a blind eye to that which has cost it in many ways. But somehow that's not worthy of taking into consideration for some reason.

that's ignoring the efforts made by Egypt to destroy many such tunnels. that some tunnels might still exist may be testament to Palestinian ingenuity rather than Egyptian complicity. these tunnels are not that easy to detect and destroy.

if Egypt was really turning a blind eye we would see Hamas fighters armed by more ATGMs and other weapons, but we don't. they are hugely outgunned and you are proud about dropping tiny amounts of boxes of food on their heads.

I understand that a war is no joke (even Iran does not overtly seek war with Israel or USA) and Egyptian leadership must consider the terrible impacts on their people. But to be this powerful and next door to a genocide and not do more is in my opinion shameful and would not be happening under Morsi or similar alternative leadership.

Egypt is the only country in the world with a direct border with Palestine (even Jordan does have share a border with the West Bank given Area C is fully under the control of Israel and this includes all the border areas). It would be totally legitimate for Egypt to force land aid into Gaza and then threaten war if the Zionists dare attack the aid convoys.

The "international law" that some so care about would be on Egypt's side here.

Unfortunately the Zionists/US have made Egypt,Jordan, Saudi and the other GCC states vassals now and so difficult for other Muslim countries to help when the neighbours are at least complicit in isolating the Palestinians.
