The fires in nothern Israel may become the single most important development in starting the Lebanon-Israel war. Israelis have been somewhat sheltered from the really bad news about the ongoing conflict but the widespread fires, more evacuations and the ineffectiveness of the Iron Dome will be hard to absorb by the Israelis.

Israeli airstrikes near Aleppo, Syria, in the early hours of Monday killed a general in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps who had been deployed to the country as an adviser, according to Iranian media reports.

The Iranian was identified as Gen. Saeed Abyar by Tasnim News agency, a media outlet affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards. He was believed to be the first Iranian to be killed by Israel since the two countries nearly went to war in April, after Israel bombed Iran’s embassy compound in Damascus, killing several commanders.

Yes. An retaliation is coming.
After the Tit for Tat direct attacks in April between Israel and Iran, I would have thought the behind-the-scene understanding between America and Iran wouldn't allow such escalations in the foreseeable future.
I don't know why Israel has escalated by killing an Irani General in Syria. There have been so many 'retaliations' from all sides that hard to say. My guess is that Netanyahu, who's been wanting the Americans get involved from Day One, is sensing that Biden has put him on the spot a few days ago by putting words in Netanyahu's mind and combined with the destruction in nothern Israel, Netanyahu seems willing to roll the dice.

No, last time in 2007 Israel bombed Lebanon heavily, destroyed half of it and Lebanese army didn't get involved.

Israel will bomb South Lebanon, they are mad racist dogs, all the shelling from Hizbollah must have hurt their ego. The last time in 2007 Syria funded and gave supplies to Hizbollah but this time Syria itself is on the defensive. Usa and Europe always end up replacing Israeli weapons and give billions in funds.
 
If Palestinians and their backers fall for this jugglery of words as in this US Sponsored UNSC Resolutions then they will be themselves to blame by History! Look how carefully it is worded and how carefully no mention of East Jerusalem's status and the Israeli Settlements in the West Bank. No mention of a definite delivery date for a Palestinian State.
Just ponder the language and see the onus is on Hamas to accept while nothing is required of Israel and in fact allows Israel to do whatever it would want to after getting all hostages.
