There is a big difference between South Africa and Palestine.
1. Israel already succeeded in stealing Palestinian land and making a state.
2. They have been ethnically cleansing Palestinians. How many Palestinians are stateless?
Yes. And if Arabs had accepted it in 1948, instead of waging a war, then there would have been no further problems.
The Western world, despite being a big supporter of Israel, has not accepted those illegal settlements. And the anger against those illegal settlements was increasing everywhere, including in the USA itself.3. They have carved up the West Bank like Swiss cheese where it is no longer viable to even make a Palestinian state.
But Zionists used successfully the suicide attacks and Jihad of Hamas as reasons for Israeli security to take more and more land.
And these suicide bombings and the refusal by Hamas to accept the right of Israel to exist is also the reasons that the whole world has yet not united against the illegal settlements.
Nothing is 100% perfect in this world. But OSLO accord would have succeeded had there been no Hamas and its stupid suicide bombings, which ultimately made fanatic parties in Israel stronger and helped them to get to the power, who ultimately went for illegal settlements after coming to power.5. Signing Oslo and giving up their weapons did not accomplish anything but continued occupation and illegal settlements. You could argue Hamas resistance worked because at least it managed to get rid of settlements in Gaza. Did the PA giving up of guns and recognizing Israel accomplish anything in West Bank? Israel is not a true partner for peace.
Otherwise, there was a lot of support in Israel for Oslo accord in the beginning and many Israelis were against any illegal settlements. But all such parties lost in elections while they lost popularity after suicide bombings of Hamas.
Firstly, it happened only in the beginning. There was no more ethnical cleansing after that.South Africa experienced apartheid but their people were not ethnically cleansed from their lands.
Thus, there is no more a problem of ethnical cleansing after the Oslo accord (or even today). There are only two major issues today:
(1) This biggest one is Hamass refusal to accept Israel's right to exist
(2) The 2nd biggest is refusal by Israel to eliminate illegal settlements.
