If they can't beat small militia in an imprisoned, impoverished small area like Gaza for 8 months, then how can one believe they can deal a fatal punch, in a conventional war, to its various regional enemies??

Almost half of Hamas’s military battalions in northern and central Gaza have rebuilt their fighting capabilities, according to an investigative study by CNN, American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project (CTP), and the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), published on Monday.
Despite nearly ten months of fighting, forensic analyses of Hamas’ al-Qassam brigades, drawing on Israeli and Hamas military statements, footage, and interviews with experts and eyewitnesses, cast doubt on the validity of Netanyahu’s “victory is in sight” speech at Congress.
While Israel has dealt blows to Hamas, killing multiple terrorists and eliminating top commanders, several units have regained fighting capacity in areas previously cleared by the IDF, CNN said.
Hamas’ military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, is composed of 24 battalions disseminated across the Gaza Strip. At the beginning of last month, the IDF had only successfully destroyed three of the 24 battalions, according to the assessments by CTP and ISW.
For a unit to be destroyed, it has to be unable to complete its objectives, CNN continued.
Of the 24, eight remain combat-effective and can fight against IDF troops. CTP and ISW rated units as combat-effective when they were able to defend the ground using sophisticated methods and weapons.
The other 13 battalions have had moderate reduction in their combat capabilities and can conduct smaller but less successful guerilla-style attacks.
“The Israelis would say that they cleared a place, but they haven’t fully cleared these areas. They haven’t defeated these fighters at all,” said Brian Carter, Middle East portfolio manager for CTP, who led the joint research. “[Hamas] are ready to fight and want to fight.”

Event the propaganda outlet that calls itself CNN admits the Qassam Brigades and other resistance factions are waging an effective guerilla warfare despite the huge humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Are we supposed to believe CNN? CNN is lying. It's providing consent for Israel to prolong its rampage on Gaza. 70% of buildings in Gaza are destroyed or damaged. Estimates of up to 186,000 Palestinians killed. People being bombed in schools and tents everyday. No freedom of movement. Constant displacement. Diseases spreading like wildfire.
Gaza is not okay. Gaza does not want to continue sacrificing it's people. Gaza is struggling for its survival. The sooner the rampage is stopped, the better.
If you're propagating this to say that Gaza is in fine shape, and a military intervention isn't required. Then you're part of the problem. You're causing harm to Gaza because you're more worried Israel turns its attention to your interests in Lebanon and elsewhere.

Israel is still able to conduct very high level assassination missions with great success and is breaking the backbone of its adversaries
The factors you are pointing towards can sure lead to some short term economic damage but I hope you know West/US are there to fund Israeli adventures .
Muslims at the end of day will have to realize that until US is there,Israel cant be defeated
The human cost of this asymmetric warfare Palestinians and Lebanese are paying is unparalleled in human history.
This strategy has only led to further expansion of Israel,not a single inch of land has been won back.
The people who are pumping this sort of warfare are themselves facing the heat of War.
For how long,they will avoid War?
They will finally fall into the matrix they themselves created.

And MY interests in Lebanon?? Listen buddy: I am a Sunni background Pakistani and a friend of Palestinians and of downtrodden wherever they are. I will not say more because your people are being slaughtered and thus you get into childish tantrums and insults. You have a long habit of such behavior!

It is correct that militarily Israel, with its backing from the Americans, can't be defeated by conventional means. They would use nukes if they have to. However, a slow war of attrition is the way to go and is already having an affect on Israel.
BTW, to the naysayers: Other than the wishful thinking like many of you do with 'Muslims should unite' blah blah, what is the alternative? I see none except through violence--a calibrated violence--which won't drag the Americans in. And the wailing like women is not going to move the needle: The Israelis don't care about killing the Palestinians!! Stop it through violence or find some other way.
