Earlier, Israel also eliminated Nassarallah of Hizbollah, now leaving both Hamas and Hizbollah red faced, broken and on the back foot. Hamas had already gone more or less silent the last few months after taking relentless beating from Israel and now with its recently anointed replacement leader gone as well, it must be wishing it had not carried out that surprise attack back in October last year.

With these high profile killings coupled with ruthless pursuit of other top to mid-tier leadership of these militant factions and non-stop bombardment of their hide-outs, Israel has practically re-written the military playbooks on how to deal with insurgency and militancy. Israeli tactics and strategies will be studied thoroughly in military academies around the globe for the next few decades.

And while Israel still has to settle the accounts with Iran, when the dust finally settles in coming days, the region will be completely dominated by Israel in absolute terms as it will ensure Hamas & Hizb as military wings will never be able to get back to their feet. All thanks to Hamas that really thought that one stupid suicidal attack will bring Israel to its knees and that they will be able to draw major concessions from Israel after forcing it to negotiations table.

All these organizations have been around for some time and before starting a war, they most likely would have thought about contingencies and set up succession plans. Organizations that are robust and have a compelling cause do not shrivel away by the loss of one or two individuals.
