Me and my Pakistani buddies on a Whatsapp channel are not in agreement just like I am not in agreement with most of the pro Palestinian voices here either. But I believe in a rational, pragmatic path forward which doesn't look for some pie in the sky and work within the American system, just as the Jews or the AARP or the Labor Unions have worked out in the system. My message to the Pakistan friends from a few minutes ago:
"My voting pattern has been mostly Democrat with some exceptions like Nader in 2000, Jill Stein in 2016 and even Trump in 2020. I am obviously quite flexible. For 2024, as I tried to say many times here: If you are in NON SWING state then vote Jill Stein, which would be vote of your conscience and a good vote. But if you are in a SWING State then vote for Harris but before that the Pro Palestinians voices need to make a public declaration for supporting Harris but only for the 2024 cycle. As Tyrion Lanister said to Deneries Targaryen in 'The Game of Throne': 'Give him [John Snow] something without giving him anything'. Politics is the art of possible. One can be dogmatic but would be licking wounds by voting for Stein in 2024 and she is NOT going to get even 3% of the votes this time and she is 74. Better deal would be to deal with Harris in SWING STATES. But, beyond the hypotheticals, I have concluded that Harris is going to be better in case of Palestinians compared with Biden or Trump. I have come to that conclusion based on months of reading many pro and anti Palestinian voices."
