Netanyahu especially and Israelis generally have a deep sense of history and about 'might is right'; the reference to Amalek betrayed an ancient violent mindset as well as Netanyahu's recent boast about 'The Lion of Judah' did. People here can dismiss them as European implants but that's belittling their attachment to Israel, otherwise why would you leave Brooklyn or London or Paris to live in a parched, very dangerous environment?
Israelis are going to do whatever it takes to expand their borders and secure themselves in their 'ancient homeland'. And history has given them the best tools: It was Biden and now it is Trump. The two most pro Israel Presidents Israel could have ever hoped for.

The thing is they're actively looking to open more fronts. Zionist power and ability rests in the impunity with which it's air force can launch, overwhelm and control skies. On the ground though the merkavas, and the remaining armor are liabilities and will become even difficult to move those along with bulldozers.

Gaza needs to have an asymmetric approach to defend/counter the air component. The rest of the Arab world is not only lacking in key systems but their approach makes them an easier target. However all is not gloom and doom. This is a strategic defeat that humbled zion which they aim to overturn on the paper...

This is where Muslims have lost before ... in corridors of power on far away lands with ability to project and confer power to desired groups.

You and many others keep having this 'we should, world should, Muslims should' etc etc. Do you remember the old Pakistani textbook story during early schooling about a bunch of mice got together to tackle a menacing cat? The story concluded with the mice saying '...but who will bell the cat?'
And, no, Israel has not lost this round. Let's not be delusional about it. Those who gain land and manage to occupy it for long term have been historically winners. That remains a story of humanity. The only consolation is: Israel would have lost this round had it not been for America and its allies support. So the takeaway is to whittle down Israel's support in America using political means. Otherwise, as far as I can see in my own lifetime, there is no justice for the Palestinians.

I didn't have to use 'we' to make a point about so many members here wishing for the Muslim unity, wishing for the Pakistani nukes helping the Palestinians etc etc. This long long thread is full of such wishful thinking. Now, I too use 'we' in a sort of way and I use that consistently in this thread and I don't hide that: Political mobilization, smart politics, political alliances where it matters the most, which is America. Smart politics. I can tell you that those stupid Muslim Imams who made selfies with Trump, those 'Latinos for Trump', those African Americans who supported Trump and more of such people are already regretting their wrong support for Trump. Go, look it up. It is not that I want to be proven right on Trump, it is to remind people that choices have consequences and prepare for the 2026 Mid Term and 2028 elections now. And also realize that The Green Party is a non-starter and is actually a 'controlled opposition' used by the Republicans to split the Progressive vote. I know this. I too voted for Nader in 2000 and Jill Stein in 2016. But now I know better.

As to your point about Gaza not lost, yes, they are valiantly still standing there but the real prize was the West Bank. Even Gaza is not a major threat to Israel for decades to come, allowing Israel enough time to focus on the West Bank and the large track of land they have just acquired in Syria. Israel may well acquire land in Gaza too. That's a victory. The Israelis are bruised but the Israelis are not brought to their knees. They got the land and they are the clear winners. Those who acquire land and hold onto it are the winners! It is painful for me to say that.

It's what I had been saying all along. Even if Kamala were president and not Trump, the only difference would be the approach to taking the land. The end result would still be the same with Trump: he cuts the clutter and gets straight to the point.

We will never know, of course, what Kamala would have done. But I don't think she would be half as bad Biden or Trump. A President's personality plays an outsized role in the American system despite the vaunted 'checks and balances'. Given Kamala's unique background vs that of the two racist old white men like Biden and Trump AND given there was /is significant pro Palestinian voices in the Democratic Party, I had a high degree of confidence she would have acted significantly more balanced. The Israeli press was full of scorn for her for good reasons leading to the 2024 elections. Also, this idea that if someone is 'direct' makes them better is neither here or there: Where is the merit in that point? We all knew Biden was a hypocrite when it came to the Israel-Palestinian issue but where is the merit to Trump being a straight shooter especially if he is willing to be even more cruel then Biden? No one was fooled by Biden's hypocrisy except maybe a few diehard Democrats.

But of course it is a moot point. Kamala lost because of the horrible Biden Presidency, just like Humphrey lost due to Johnson's Vietnam war. The takeaway is that just like Humphrey had to look 'loyal' to Johnson despite the reservations about the Vietnam War, so did Kamala. That's how the American system works! So let's not put blame on Kamala for Biden's sins.
