Israel allowed more than 1,000 Jewish worshippers to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday, with groups of up to 180 entering the holy site - the largest number ever permitted by the authorities.
They were seen entering the site, referred to as Temple Mount in Judaism, flanked by Israeli security services.
The move marks a departure from Israel's previous policy of allowing no more than 30 Jewish Israelis at a time into the site, which was conquered by Israel in the 1967 war and is recognised as occupied territory internationally.
The Islamic Waqf, the organisation that administers Al-Aqsa Mosque, told Middle East Eye that 1,200 Jewish Israelis entered on Wednesday. More than 4,000 have stormed the holy site since the Passover holiday began last weekend.

Some analysts saying that Trump wants to break Putin away from Iran and China; in case of Putin not significantly supporting Iran an attack on Iran becomes potentially easier. But the analysts also say that Putin wouldn't fall for that: Americans under Trump simply cannot be trusted by anyone and that's becoming a 'fact' in international relations. And why would Putin fall for the lollypops now after shedding so much blood in Ukraine and after gaining the territories?? Lavrov, who is arguably the best diplomat of our time, is saying that the West drove us away.
Anyway, the logistics of attacking Iran are horrible and the risks are enormous. THAT's the main factor the war hasn't started, Putin or not.

He wants to drive Putin away from China. Iran, Israel and Ukraine are bargaining chips in that calculus but I agree that Putin is not going to abandon China. The most Trump can hope for is a semi-neutral stance from Russia.
Christian Zionists and Jewish donors are a constant of American politics for any politician of any party, but the immediate family connection is an additional factor for Trump. Chelsea Clinton is also married to a Jewish guy but she was just a kid when her parents were active in politics.

Christian Zionists don't vote much for Democrats. It is time people start understading American politics, which is the bedrock of support for Israel's crimes against the Palestinians. While you maybe forgiven for not living here and so you don't know enough, it is those ignorant immigrants here living in America who couldn't see beyond Biden's personal Zionism love and condemned the whole Democratic party--a party where significant number of Congressmen stood for Palestinians while there was virtually ZERO from the Republican side who voiced any concerns for the Palestinians. Ignorant people don't know that the VP is not the same as the President and the VP generally follows the President's line. Ignorant people don't know that in an election year no one can ignore the AIPAC threats and money.
There was always a clear divide between the two parties in America if one paid even cursory attention and not resorted to lazy thinking! Who are AOC, Bernie and now Senator Chris Van Hoellen voicing concerns for the rights of the immigrants? How many Republicans did that or doing that. Republicans CHEERED the slaughter in Gaza while at least there were some on the other side who voiced some concern. Could you guys not see your potential allies: The Progressives, the Youth, the Liberals... But the immigrant community in America is historically ignorant and stupid and it's being borne true within the last few months alone!! How can one excuse such ignorance?! People living here should have at least some understanding of the basics of the American politics and learn to recognize the lesser evil in a binary system and join potential allies. Are they happy now that even their Naturalized Citizenship is under threat because there is the Netanyahu stooge in the White House?? Are they happy now that the 0.4% voted Jill Stein is sitting on the sidelines licking her wounds while being played by the Republicans to divide the pro Palestinians and progressive votes?

Such hysterics may feel cathartic but will remain useless to help the Palestinians get out of their predicament.
The goal here should be to think rationally and work towards realistic solutions that end the long era of unnecessary pain and suffering IMO.
