Btw, I’m sure this was shared earlier, but in terms of shaping the narrative, Israelis tried that game on Weibo and it backfired in a way they couldn’t have expected, especially as this conflict drags on and on. 2 IDF terrorists killed, 2 more "seriously wounded" (loss of limbs), and 3 more "moderately" injured across 3 incidents in Gaza on Saturday, May 3, 2025

Incident 1: 2 IDF terrorists killed and 2 IDF terrorists injured by booby-trapped tunnel shaft in Rafah. Both liquidated IDF terrorists were in the "elite" Yahalom combat engineering unit. Of the two injured IDF terrorists, one is "seriously" wounded and one is "moderately" wounded.

Incident 2: IDF terrorist "seriously wounded" in north Gaza. Israel has not released further details on this incident.

Incident 3: 2 IDF terrorists wounded by "blast" in IDF occupied area in Gaza City, possibly by tank shell accident or mortar strike.

This is why MBS told Trump’s team today, according to Mideast Eye, not to bring up normalization with Israel at the upcoming meeting as it will put the Prince in a tough situation, especially after his own minister called out Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide in a recent speech in front of the ICJ, a few days ago. All this because MBS acknowledged his population is very much angered by what Israel has been doing and he knows that in these circumstances, normalization maybe too much for his population to bear.

So, while Western Muslims can speak out within the confines of the liberties enshrined in law in the west, real change may actually come from the Arab world itself, should rulers change or their views change, knowing they need to keep at least enough of their population on board, especially if the economy becomes shaky.

A good point, but one that would seem to suggest no substantive changes for the foreseeable future at least, delaying the "real change" many here keep hoping for.

Hope based on such changes in others is a poor war strategy IMO.
