Nothing to disagree here. Demand all you want. You will only get what you deserve.

Do a unarmed person deserve to get killed by a agressive person who posess a rifle?

Did the unarmed person deserve it because he/she didnt carry a weapon?

Do the children deserve to pay such horrific costs for the decisions taken by their societies? They are the true innocents caught in a war that they simply do not understand. They must be protected.

You are changing the goalpost.
It was a simple question.

So is mine, and broader, not just for one person, but tens of thousands of them. And hundreds of thousands more at grave risk. Such intentional myopia is never good.

Parents have a duty to protect the children. But thats not the question here.

The question really is if there are any minumum standards of behaviour between humans. Because nations are made up by collective if humans. The same rule must also apply for nations.

In Islam there is clear strict laws of warfare. There are Geneva conventions.
But unfortunately 5% of human beings are sociopaths.

If Israel is allowed to get away with whatever they want, such as collective punnishment and genocide. The logical conclusion is that Israel is opening up for a equal treatment of itself and its citizens. In other words a mass genocide of jewish Israelis can be justified by the same token: «you did the same, you should have protected yourself».

Agree?

How many of these minimum standards of behavior apply during wars between humans throughout history? Or are we to treat this present conflict differently?

We can agree that wars were far more cruel in the past. Societies have evolved, fortunately.

If we are not to treat present conflicts differently, we might as well say nobody really did anything wrong in the past.

Logistics are the problem.
Iranians vessels have been targeted in the Med. Sea and in the Red Sea for years when they carried supplies to the Palestinians/Hezbollah and even Iranian supplies via land route have been targeted.
A much more lethal way is Turkey joining hand with Syria but then Turkey is a Turkey.
So you are basically running with the hare and hunting with the hounds?

But yet we want to be able to bring in past colonial horrors and use them to equate USA in this thread? Please pick one fair and equal standard if we are to have a rational debate. How may times have the streets of Jerusalem literally flowed with rivers of human blood? This land has a history of such horrors for thousands of years. And those medieval mindsets still prevail, from the Israeli insistence on its Promised Lands arguments, and the Palestinians ancestral claims to the same lands.

"For the second time today, Israeli aircraft targeted a police car in the city of Rafah. The aim of this was to spread chaos and increase crime in the city, which suffers from great crowding, extreme hunger, bitter tragedy, and a deteriorating psychological situation, in an attempt to prevent the police from performing its work in maintaining order.Five police cadres were martyred since the morning in terrorism targeting community cohesion and steadfastness."

May Allah (swt) hasten his relief to the Palestinian people.
