Indus Water Treaty: Discussion, News & Updates

A Chenab diversion is not a 4–5 year project..... Even routine hydropower tunnels take years, a basin scale diversion across the Himalayas is a 15 to 20 years undertaking at minimum, and that too at exceptionally high costs..

And 1 MAF isn't something you "trim" with a tunnel... it would require massive, multi reservoir infrastructure that simply doesn't exist and won't appear overnight..

The real issue today is far more mundane and far more immediate... upstream control over flow timing through existing hydropower projects... That capability already exists and is the only lever that can realistically be expanded in the near term...

The tunnel India is planning is only 9km lenght. It can divert 2-4% of Chenab water. You would think Pakistan should do nothing but it will invite bigger disaster. India will not stop here so there are not many options left but all out war if they go ahead.

Stop and release water does not matter. Pakistan will have to build dams on Chenab river.

Which specific Chenab project are you referring to? A 9 km tunnel could apply to several hydropower schemes, but AFAIK none of them are designed for basin scale diversion or permanent reduction of river flow...

As for war, that's inevitable

The project will be done with in next 4 years and its not 1 MAF its 2 MAF

IMHO its definitely more than 2 MAF may be 4 MAF 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am gonna be very clear with you….
India has lost her patience on pakistan, and India dont need nukes to deal with pakistan as you can see from topic of this thread.

But if India gets a justification to use nukes there will not be a pakistan on global map and this is not my wishes this is Govt of India policy, you know majority of Indians were disappointed when ceasefire happened we wanted to continue till the very end View attachment 201494
Majority of them would still be disappointed had the cease fire not happened. Infact, after the last skirmish, many in Pak security circle are realizing that our conventional might is enough to deter India so yeah forget about the nukes but just incase there ever is nuclear war, none of India will be spared. When you test our resolve, we love death as much as you love life.

China has already made this warning to India last year. There is no doubt that India will feel the wrath of China.

Irrespective of their warnings, China will anyway build these dams.

Asim's actions against Kashmiris worsened the situation for Pakistan. He removed their voting rights after they voted for PTI, effectively taking away their votes and causing hardship for the federation.

Sub acha ha boot lickers ka lia. Waisa honestly Pakistanio ka illaj be ha because we never raise for our rights. What happens next, we as a nation are equally responsible.

These boot lickers are happy as long as they see some action on border. They don't care election rigging, rule of law, corruption, prosperity etc. This is never their concern.
