I myselve consider their program as 5gen, as 5 gen is also continued being developed. But they name their program as 6 gen, so be it

4 F35 can wipe out 8 Singaporean F15 in Pitch Black practice without the F15 can see those planes. STEALTH is real. Indonesian F16 block 52 also has made duel with US F22 in this year Pitch Black. The result is posted in IFX thread.

We wrote software and assisted in hardware for HUD system back in 80s. We designed gondola fuel tank to improve F6s pathetic range somewhat. Even jf17 wouldve remained an f7 if it wasn't for PAF engineers.

While I think he was a bit rude but I agree with what he is saying, PFX will not be the psudo 5th-gen aircraft some people here are imagning it to be, but most likely a program to indigenize the JF-17 carrying everything from domesticly built radar to munitions.

No, plain and simple NO. First since such a type makes no sense at all and second since Pakistan lacks the capability to develop something like this alone.

I know certain old men will be offended and rate this again an insult of Pakistan and the PAF, but it’s just a fact.

To succeed one has to be ambitious , one must not be deterred by failures ....AZM was ambitious , no doubt about it but shows you the confidence level of PAC ..... common sense says PFX will be worth the hype other wise there is no point flaunting it .....

Of course it's no 5th gen. Not even 4.8. But it's meant to be sufficiently advanced for the user. Whoever claims it to be on par with Rafael needs a reality check but even block 3 is no slouch against it. A good jockey can give any adversary a run for his money.

I dont know, I see the point of a JF-17 replacement but if you look at ongoing projects seems like we are again destined to end up with so many types, how can we have an air force with

Apart from Azm which was quickly abandoned, what else with regard to PAF?

Aviation city is another. Al Khalid 3. Pakistan was supposedly working on a mini sub a long time ago, which went nowhere. Pakistan was going to buy new rifles on a large scale (even had multiple competitions over the years) which went nowhere as well. The Pakistani version of cornershot, again has gone nowhere. Taimoor ICBM, completely abandoned after years of development.

I'm sure there's others as well.

PFX is most likely will eventually become a Single Engine Stealth Fighter but initially it could be like current KF 21 without any internal weapons bay and in BLOCK II of PFX we may see that

I highly doubt the project will see day, unless china funds on long term loan, the way pakistan enconomy going, at time, where most of the world is struggling to keep the cost optimised for R&D and building these expensive fighters. I dont think Pakistan afford it as now,may be 5 yrs from now if things get better for their economy or it becomes a joint project between a few countries
