Seriously I am confused. We all should wait for few months to see it gets clarified.

We all have been following PAF for some time no offense they have hardly any such claim in public which is not practically followed.

Yes, and we have integrated it with TFX. Now TFX will be our AZM so now the question is PFX is KAAN or we are also running a third project. J-31, KAAN and this one. PAF inducted J-10 C, Akinci, Wing Long II, TB2, Shahpar II, several AWACS, EW planes in the making.. HQ-9 and other Air Defense system inducted. These are not small feet. J-31 announced coming soon. Only question left is JF-17 PFX is KAAN or some new 4.5th Generation Fighter project like Grippen NG.

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but this is hot air that the PAF is blowing up the nation's behind.

Some facts:
1. The JF17 facilities at Kamra (AMF) are about to go dormant and the PAF is in a great panic to figure out something to do with them.
2. The PAF approached Turkish Aerospace for potential JF17 upgrade but the Turks rightly countered what about IP and dealing with China because you cant go about messing with JF17 in secret to which the PAFs reply was "don't worry sar!" and nothing. So this discussion went nowhere.
3. Turkish Aerospace has tried several times to rope in PAC into Kaan but PAC has failed to do so because of their utter incompetence and laziness and the desire to prop up NASTP and put it between everything.
4. PAF has a habit of lying and bragging. I know of several examples where things were shown at NASTP that were literally stolen slides from Turkish Aerospace. I won't go into details. But the point is that PAF likes to pretend it's collaborating MUCH more than it really is.

Considering these facts, if I had to guess what PFX is? It's some AVM's brainfart of an idea to keep the JF17 line running with something with the plan to figure something out along the way. Nothing more. There is no collaboration with Turkey. They don't want any part of someone's current brainfart that will be replaced by a totally different brainfart in a few months. Sounds like usual false bravado and grand plans and an official version of "he's my best friend" when he doesn't even want to acknowledge your existence.

That is what could be basically a Grippen NG type of thing.

It won't be just a new project with no change if they are going for something big and bringing Saudis and Turks on board than it would be basically a JF-17 version just like Grippen recently had Grippen NG a totally new beast.

Based on that we joined KAAN program few years back. Based on the fact a Turkish Government official was part of launching ceremony of Babur Class Corvette in Karachi and said that already more then 200 Pakistani engineers and technicians are working on KAAN project and soon number will go up to 400

This will be my last post on this topic because I'm not changing any opinions anymore but let me tell you what this 200ish number is
1. 50-100ish British Pakistani engineers from BAE systems that are working in TFX. They are Britishers and not working for Azm - obviously.
2. 30-40 Pakistanis working for KAAN at turkish aerospace Pakistan. These are Turkish Aerospace employees that have nothing to do with Azm.
3. 40 ish people that were deputed from NESCOM and PAF to spend 2 years working in TFX. This has ended now. An to quote one of the guys when I asked him what you went there to do before and after they went "I really don't know". They didn't do anything there, they were just there doing odd side low priority things. The next batch that went didn't even go to TFX but to aircraft division which is hurkus and hurjet.

So yeah. There is no collaboration. PAF may buy the Kaan when it is ready. You can ask any of the Turkish members.

If it's not KAAN than it's something similar to Grippen E. Still my first guess or let say I think 98 % chances are that this is KAAN and only two percent chances are that this would be something similar to Grippen E. A very heavily upgraded J-1F 17 basically almost a medium weight plane.
