JF-17 Grounding Issues in Nigeria and Myanmar

Overview of Grounding

The JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, developed by Pakistan and China, have faced significant operational challenges in both Nigeria and Myanmar, leading to their grounding.

Nigeria's Experience

  • Technical Issues: Nigeria's JF-17s have encountered frequent technical glitches, particularly with avionics and radar systems. The airborne interception radar has been unreliable, affecting the aircraft's performance.
  • Operational Impact: Due to these issues, Nigeria has sought alternatives, including the purchase of Italian M-346FA fighter jets, which are considered more reliable and maneuverable.

Myanmar's Experience

  • Grounding Reasons: The Myanmar Air Force has grounded its fleet of JF-17s due to structural flaws, including cracks in the airframe and malfunctions in critical systems like the radar. Reports indicate that up to 11 aircraft were rendered unfit for service.
  • Bilateral Strain: The grounding has strained relations between Myanmar and Pakistan, prompting Pakistan to send engineers to assist with repairs. However, these efforts have had limited success, and the situation remains unresolved.

Sorry do you have a link to your source, as your signature states, "Belief is trust without proof"

The googlies be yer fraand. :D

Nigerian airstrikes helped foil coup attempt, Benin says

it was reported by Reuters as well but surely has no mention of any jets... considering that it was quite an important and big mission and the Nigerians struck their targets with precision so we CANNOT rule out that the Jeffs were not used in the intervention

afaik, a Nigerian source included the 3 jets figure entering and staying in Benin airspace during the mission (no confirmation tho) and ironically, as you know, the NAF only has 3 Jeffs

The Nigerian JF-17s have spotty availability due to many issues, leading to Nigerian reluctance to consider buying more, but you are right that the sources do not mention the type of jets used.

The Burmese ones are a much bigger mess.

he is not an Indian yaar , stop calling every retard indian . he is Pakistani
but i suspect by reading his other posts , he thinks only west ( specifically us ) can make a good reliable jet
I am 100% sure he is a pakistani from his previous discussion and i have never said that he is indian, all i am saying he is a pakistani but wasting our time and polluting this thread and we should not respond to him until he produces some genuine evidence. I have sympathy with mods they will have to clean alot if we keep responding

You are making stuff up ....

I am not, but please feel free to ignore anything that does not align with your already-decided views. No problem.

You have made an assertion, you have been challenged to try and back it up with evidence/proof by multiple people and you have failed to provide any evidence at all ...

So, people are right to call you out on it.
