Just a Nice Pic

Davis-Monthan is not the only boneyard in Arizona. Shortly after WWII, the Army was looking at additional locations for the storage and disposition of aircraft no longer needed. Kingman Army Airfield, located in Kingman, AZ, was such a depot. Let's feature a few aircraft that were either stored at and eventually destroyed at Kingman or are currently stored there.

For those who are interested, the IATA code is IGM:

Yes, I will start off with my employer:

At the time, I actually lived closer to this boneyard than D-M:

In addition to being a boneyard, it is also home to an Army National Guard helicopter (AH-64) unit. The Air Force and Air National Guard will regularly do touch'n-gos there.

It is also rumored (lot of truth) the CIA has an operation there (Evergreen Air) and the SEALs will often do HALO jumps and other training.

I've been out there easily 50 times.
