K-P forms first-ever Sniper Squad for precision operations in high risk areas

Ministry of Interior

Run by a literal relative of the current army chief, Mr Mohsin Naqvi. With their paramilitaries all run by deputed army officers (correct me if I'm wrong).

I think they don't want to fix these paramilitaries on purpose because then they might become self sufficient in dealing with TTP/BLA/Dakus level threats and it would reduce civilian dependence on Military for dealing with every insurgency.

PDF dwells in a world which at majority of times is far from reality and the real world. Forces in real world aren't run on the thoughts you provided in the previous post. Think what suits you.

This is a compensation event more than anything...
They got an armored; haval, muhafiz and a fortuner... Some drones and some sniper rifles...
Mohsin Naqvi no matter how much you hate him handed over some beefy land cruisers, they were old ? Yes, they were better for the job ? In my opinion yes... The haval has cvt gear box and the fortuner is also automatic... They won't take the brunt the LCs could... If anyone been to GB recently via babusar can witness cvt mayhem themselves... Silly and Petty decision if you ask me..

Bangladesh PM and COAS were related, cousins i think.

Its a long debate, one that will not lead anywhere.

Let's not keep Bangladesh as role model but yes this debate is done thousand times but point is, making local police forces stronger is better than deploying military into own territory.

I imagine the M4s have started draining up, most of the M4s were ex ANA special forces and only numbered 20k rifles, most of them went towards equipping the Taliban. A few hundred of them were smuggled into Pakistani markets where they were purchased by private buyers and the rest were bought up by the TTP which they used against Pakistani security forces, several hundred M4s have been recovered from the TTP over the past few years which were refurbished and put into special forces use.

Am curious as to how many M-16A2 / A4 rifles we provided the ANA. In the hands of a decent shooter, a tuned A4 can be a decent precision platform out to 500M.

Well above 100k likely closer to 200k, they are the standard rifles among the taliban.

Thanks to,Rahee Sharif.

Yes, silly me giving Bangladesh reference, that makes your debate weaker since I gave a fact so lets brush it under the carpet like it never exists.

Local police has been given resources, you need to do your research. Police wont get tanks or fighter aircrafts though. Now no one said to raise Elite force in Punjab or SSU to protect VIPs. Send them out for special operations.

Lets take Baluchistan police for example, they are 150,000 in strength. That is equal to 10 x infantry divisions of Pakistan Army and bear in mind that PA has 19 x infantry divisions so thats half the strength of Pakistan Army's infantry formations, just in one province.

Baluchistan Levies is 23000.
Baluchistan Constabulary is 10000.
The brunt of the action is faced by Frontier Corps (FC) which has 45000-50000 troops.

Now, you can total all of them and they have the latest weapons and gadgets required for policing and operations. They also get support from military when required.

Keep that Bangladesh whatabouttery to yourself man.

Most of these paramilitaries are headed by incompetent Pak Army officers deputed to them right? I say incompetent because I do not recall them ever winning a war. Even in 2019 and 2025 it is the air force that held our heads high.

Maybe we should try removing them and see if things improve.
