The II Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum China – Central Asia kicked off in the Kazakh capital, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Kazakhstan and China are set to sign some 60 various agreements worth 25 billion US dollars as part of the forum, Deputy Chairman of the Board, member of the Board of Kazakh Invest NC JSC Madiyar Sultanbek said.

This time, multiple memoranda of cooperation and agreements, as well as investment agreements and contracts, and other important documents, will be signed at the forum.

1st Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar will attend the signing ceremony.

He said one of the most interesting agreements is the project between Kazakhstan and China’s Seraphim company aimed at the development of green hydrogen. He stressed that countries such China, Japan, South Korea, the US, Germany and Saudi Arabia pay utmost attention to the hydrogen technology development.

Kazakhstan, China to launch major joint projects in agriculture, energy and transport​

Kazakhstan and China have entered into 58 commercial deals worth more than $24 billion. The documents were signed during the II China-Central Asia Industrial-Investment Forum ongoing in Astana with the participation of the First Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Kazakhstan plans to build new plants, agricultural clusters and energy facilities in its regions in the nearest time.

For instance, Zhambyl region is implementing a major corn processing project. China’s Fufeng Group is set to inject $800 million in the construction of the plant with a processing capacity of 1 million tons of corn per year. The enterprise plans to release high-value added products including lysine and amino acids. The project is expected to generate 1,500 jobs and the region’s farmers have already started signing contracts on the supply of raw materials.

Xinjiang Lihua Group Co Ltd is engaged in the creation of a cotton cluster in Turkistan region worth $420 million. The initiative covers a full cycle of the process - from cotton growing to its deep processing and manufacture of textile products. The project aims at import substitution, export and light industry development, as well as construction of 10 enterprises with the generation of more than 4,000 jobs.

Dalian Hesheng Holdings is set to invest $650 million in the construction of a deep grain processing facility in Akmola region. The plant will manufacture gluten, starch and other export-oriented products. The project aims at signing long-term contracts with Kazakhstani farmers and will give a new impetus to agricultural processing development.

Another Chinese company TBEA Company Limited is implementing a large-scale energy project in Almaty region. The region will soon commission a 1000Wt power plant and a transformer plant. The region also plans to build a coal thermal power plant with a capacity of 1320MWt to supply heat to Alatau city. Investments in the project are expected to reach $3.7 billion.

Qingdao Wanlin Food Corporation is set to build an onion dehydration and a deep vegetable processing plant with $89 million to be invested in the project. The products manufactured at the enterprise will be exported to China, the U.S. and Europe.The project is expected to employ some 300 people.

Kazakhstan also plans to implement projects with the participation of such Chinese companies as China Construction Engineering Corporation, Energy China Group, CITIC Construction, China CAMC Engineering, Huawei, Aladdin Holdings Group, YTO Express etc. The agreements cover energy, agroindustrial complex, transport, information-communication technologies and education sectors.

The sides also agreed to cooperate in deep processing of agricultural products, renewable energy sources, urban infrastructure and coal chemistry.
 
Not bad, a large amount of agricultural product trade, which China also needs. Xinjiang has become very prosperous in recent years, and many of my friends have gone to Xinjiang's border for tourism and shopping. We finally got through the years threatened by terrorism
 

Following the meeting between the leaders of Kazakhstan and China, the two sides signed the 2027–2030 Trade and Economic Cooperation Program and Roadmap between the two countries' governments.

Earlier, it was reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, had arrived in Shanghai, China, at the invitation of Xi Jinping, for a working visit.

On Thursday, the Head of State met top executives of China's high-tech companies.

Kazakhstan and China have signed more than 70 commercial agreements worth over $15 billion during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's working visit to Shanghai, underscoring the rapid expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Among the key deals is an agreement between Samruk-Kazyna and Huawei Technologies for the acquisition of advanced technology solutions and equipment. The Development Bank of Kazakhstan also signed an agreement with China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd. to provide services for issuers of offshore bonds in free trade zones.

The agreements include:

A Strategic Partnership Agreement between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd;

An Agreement on the Acquisition of Technological Solutions and Equipment between Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Huawei Technologies;

A Memorandum of Understanding on the development of electric vehicle infrastructure and the application of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan's automotive industry between Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Freedom Holding Corp., the Astana city administration, and Geely Auto Group;

An Agreement on the Provision of Services for Offshore Bond Issuers within the Free Trade Zone between the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd;

A Long-Term Strategic Cooperation Agreement for the investment project to construct Coke Battery Complexes No. 8 and No. 9 and a Coke Oven Gas Purification System between Qarmet JSC, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, and Acre Coking & Refractory Engineering Consulting Corporation;

An Industrial Cooperation Agreement on the implementation of a Li Auto vehicle production project in Kazakhstan between Allur Group JSC and Li Auto Inc.;

An Investment Agreement for the first phase of the Kuryk Port Multifunctional Terminal project between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport, the administration of Mangistau region, and Kazakhstan Guoyou Investment;

A Cooperation Agreement on the implementation of joint projects to equip border checkpoints with inspection systems and expand industrial localization in Kazakhstan between the Ministry of Industry and Construction and NUCTECH Company Limited;

A Technology Licensing Agreement for the production of OMODA and JAECOO vehicles at the Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan plant between Astana Group and Chery Holding Group;

A Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Qazbot Technologies and Agibot PTE;

An Agreement on the Basic Principles of Cooperation for the development of Kazakhstan's Data Center Valley between Kazakhtelecom JSC and HV & Submarine Hengtong Group;

An Exclusive Cooperation Agreement for the Kazakhstan-China International Logistics Corridor (Two Khorgos - Eastern Gate parks) project between Harvest Group and Minmetals Logistics Group Co., Ltd;

An Agreement between Transtelecom JSC and GuoDong Group for the construction of antenna and mast infrastructure;

A Memorandum of Cooperation between Qazaq AI Research University and the Shanghai Innovation Institute;

A Cooperation Agreement on the development of artificial intelligence and robotics in Almaty between the Almaty city administration, NERO Group, and UBTECH Robotics;

An Agreement between the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Soochow University to establish a joint institute;

A Cooperation Agreement between the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Jiangsu Huibo Robot Technology.
