A bomb attack in the Daraban tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday injured at least 14 security personnel.

The attack, said to be a remotely controlled improvised explosive device (IED), targeted a security forces convoy, said security sources.

The explosion heavily damaged a security forces vehicle. The injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) D.I Khan.

The attack came at a time when security forces are battling terrorists who attacked Cadet College Wana in North Waziristan. The military said a clearance operation is underway to neutralise the three terrorists who managed to infiltrate the educational institution.

Security forces added that three of the personnel are said to be in critical condition.

Following the attack, a large contingent of police and security forces reached the incident site and cordoned off the area.

Security forces foil terror bid on Cadet College Wana on November 10.

Over 500 students were trapped inside Cadet College Wana on Tuesday while security forces exchanged fire with terrorists on the campus premises in South Waziristan. Some 115 students have reportedly been evacuated since Monday, when the operation began.

ISPR sources said there were still at least three militants hiding within the college premises. However, officials confirmed they were not near the students' residential block.

According to an ISPR statement issued Monday, terrorists attempted to storm the college that morning. The attack began with a suicide explosion at the main entrance, injuring 15 civilians and four security personnel. The injured officials were identified as Naib Subedar Tabish, Lance Havaldar Shakeel, and soldiers Abdullah and Waqas.

Officials confirmed that security forces responded swiftly, engaging the attackers before they could enter the college premises. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed. A clearance and search operation was then launched in the surrounding area.

The nation stands in ranks once again .
The same enemy who attacked the innocent children of Army Public School in 2014
Today that very enemy has attacked Wana Cadet College .

But remember ,
This is the same enemy, and we are the same nation ..
Even stronger, even more united,.. The brave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stand today as one voice, united, and resolute against terrorism

From every heart, a single chant ..
This homeland is ours, and we are its guardians

The great enemy roams about...
Today once again, this song echoes our resolve and spirit.
