According to the statement, KP Inspector General (IG) Zulfiqar Hameed was present at the scene. It added that the operation was led by the CTD additional IG, the Kohat regional police officer and the Kohat district police officer. It said that the Kohat general officer commanding was also present.

“Law enforcement agencies achieved success following an overnight operation,” it said.

The statement said IG Hameed commended the officers who participated in the operation and announced rewards for them.

“Police, CTD, and security forces fought valiantly; these brave personnel are the pride of the nation,” he said.

“The terrorists’ nefarious designs have been thwarted, and we will ensure their complete elimination,” he said.

A CTD statement earlier said that its additional IG was injured in a grenade attack by terrorists during the operation. According to the statement, the terrorists had entered the Special Branch building after the suicide attack on the mosque.

The statement said the CTD additional IG had been on the frontline since Friday afternoon, supervising the ongoing operation against Fitna al-Khawarij along with police personnel.

KOHAT: The death toll from an explosion and gun attack at a police headquarters in Kohat rose to at least 31, including 16 police personnel, a senior police official told AFP on Saturday, with fighting ongoing.

Attackers stormed the Old Police Lines complex at Kohat, a town of around 220,000 people in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, on Friday afternoon.

The police compound serves as a district-level police headquarters, housing key offices of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch and several other police units.

“At least 31 people, including 16 police personnel, have been killed and more than 100 injured so far in the militant attack and suicide bombing,” the official said.

No. We have can see how afghans and Ameer ul Momineen are sending tashkeels in 100s every month. And how locals are sheltering and supporting them . Most of these people vote for PTI.
Army sitting on the border should stop these tashkeels. Why don't they ?
