Intelligence officers gunned down

In the Shahdev Khas area of Bannu, an intelligence official was martyred and his brother injured in an attack on Friday, according to local police.

The victim, identified as Sultan Niaz, a sub-inspector in the Intelligence Bureau, was sitting with his brother, Shahab, near a market when assailants riding motorcycles opened fire at them.

The deceased and injured were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital while a large contingent of police reached the area and launched a search operation.

According to initial reports, the blast caused severe damage to the police vehicle. The injured were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A large contingent of police and security forces arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion, cordoning off the area as an investigation into the incident commenced.
 

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and khwarij, as a result of which, eight Khwarij were sent to hell. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from killed Khwarij, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians. Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country.2nd tier commander Saif ullah also liquidated in this attack

Eight terrorists were killed after security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media affairs wing said on Thursday.
