Just to assess the situation, I searched Bajaur with various keywords in recently uploaded videos in YT. I found one below:
There's some seriously MASSIVE sea of people. I don't know Pashtu and I don't know what they are saying. But to put things in perspective for the members in this Forums, we need to understand the scale of situation. This is not some small place or few people. These people look united in their whatever cause. Individuals in the forum cannot be right or correct then the masses of those areas who have lived their lives in the reality of the ground. So we are nobody to judge their situation or make analysis from outside. Noone likes wars, people want peace. You have to think from their perspective that if you are living in that area then what you would want? You'd want peace for yourself and your family.
Just watch those people in the video above and understand the scale of situation. I am tagging people who posted negative comments about tribal regions. You guys can have better understanding only if you think from their perspective. If we think its a small area of few houses where people are always war mongering / supporting taliban then we will think negative but its a massive area where majority wants peace then we will think differently. The region is 100s of times bigger than Gaza. Dialog is only way forward. Any collateral damage is equivalent to suicide. That being said, we must go hard on TTPs in Afghanistan and at border crossings with precise strikes. Military solution alone never yield results. It has to be dialog / political solution with tribal leaders + military solution. Only military thinking leads to failure. That's why Military dictatorship leads to failure of nations every single time in history. No country in G20 has a military dominant / ruled system. Political solutions require you to attract masses. Only political leaders can attract masses and change the course / can overhaul the whole thinking.
