Terrorists torch bank building in Lakki Marwat​

LAKKI MARWAT: Suspected terrorists torched a bank building in Titterkhel town here on Wednesday night.

Police said that a group of terrorists came to the branch of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) located on the Bannu-D I Khan section of Indus Highway, broke the locks, smashed doors and windows and set the building on fire.

“It is not yet clear how much the assailants looted from the bank,” they maintained, saying the bank officials are being approached to assess the actual financial and property loss.

They said the terrorists left before the police reached the spot. A Rescue 1122 official said that a team of firefighters was dispatched to the venue when the control room received information about the incident.

He said the firefighters extinguished the fire after hectic efforts.

The fire, however, destroyed the building completely, he said.

Police said they had launched a search for the assailants in the surrounding areas.

Tterrorists blew up the house of an intelligence official with explosives in Gandi Sahib Khan area of Serai Naurang town in Lakki Marwat district late Wednesday night.

A police official said an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the terrorists exploded with a big bang, destroying the house of constable Shahid Inam.

He said the terrorists also took away weapons with them before leaving the area. The official said that after the attack, a police contingent started combing the area in search of the attackers.

Use of a mosque by Kharijites for provocation in North Waziristan. Successful targeted operation by security forces, 8 Kharijites sent to hell.

According to reports, the Kharijite group was using mosques in the Zangoti area of North Waziristan to store weapons and explosives.

Based on intelligence, security forces conducted a successful targeted operation, targeting the Kharijites inside their hideouts.

As a result of the operation, 8 Kharijites were sent to hell, while 10 were injured. 3 Kharijites and 4 facilitators were also arrested.

The terrorists' strongholds were destroyed, and a significant amount of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the Kharijites.

According to the details of the operation, on September 6, the villagers voluntarily evacuated the area, after which the security forces commenced the operation.

According to intelligence, the Kharijites had turned innocent people's homes and mosques into hideouts. The house of Kharijite Noor was being used to store weapons and explosives.

On September 7, the forces cleared all these hideouts, and in a clash with the Kharijites, 3 Kharijites were sent to hell.

On September 8, the security forces cleared another part of the village. During the operation, one terrorist was captured alive, and four ex

plosive tunnels were also neutralized.

During the operation, a total of 8 Kharijites were killed, including the deputy commander of the banned Asadullah group, Ajab Khan alias Asad, Afghan citizen commander Torabi (IED and suicide expert), Khalid Zahid group’s formation commander Chamtu, Khalid Farooq, and Maulvi Mansoor of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.

Local residents appreciated the successful operations of the security forces and expressed their resolve to always stand shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in defense of their homeland.
