Learjet 60 crashes in Florida - Crashes 9 Miles from Mar-a-Lago

On emotional level yes.
On factual level, pilot errors are a major contributor to accidents and a nervous pilot in an emergency does add to that .

There are times saying nothing is the best course. Now is one of those times. Sad we have idiots like you on here.

Bruh, the crew should have listened to ATC warning on the whether FFS....

RIP 🙏
These smaller Jets should be fitted with some type of Ejection mechanism.

I’ve been on social sites absolute garbage comments on the lady copilot. I don’t care what anyone says, I think the co-pilot is a hero. She gave vital information all the way to the end. She knew they were crashing in the ground and still stayed as committed to her job as she possible could. Rip Lady.

Was this plane not de-iced before departing on its flight ?
The flight originated in AUS. The icing condition occurred at altitude while the aircraft was trying to avoid the storm.

From a couple posts in one of my other chat groups, the horizontal stabilizer may have separated from the tail of the Lear. One of the fellows happens to be an aircraft mechanic with Lear 60 experience.

If you look at the stills from the moment the aircraft is about to impact, it does appear to horizontal stabilizer is gone.

The copilot was 20 years old. Earned her license while she was still in high school:

A young, and inexperienced pilot got caught out by bad weather, and made a mistake and paid for it with the lives on everyone on board. Not the first time, and will not be the last in aviation unfortunately.

Bro', if she was the co-pilot, let's not rush to pin the blame on her level of experience.

There has been no mention of the pilot-in-charge. What was his / her experience?

FWIW, I have been on a broken aircraft. Split flap condition, iced over on the hop from JFK into EWR (was a quick stop in JFK for cargo discharge). Let me tell you it wasn't very exciting. Especially in EWR which is notorious for horrible x-winds and you're coming in at around 180mph to keep the aircraft stable while seeing the runway lined with emergency vehicles.
