Trump saying Israeli troops will not head to Beirut. They had no intention to. What he's saying is Israeli troops will largely withdraw from newly captured areas in Lebanon.

He's saying won't go to Beirut to save face for Netanyahu.

Israel did indeed seek an off ramp and this looks to be wrapping up soon. Hezbollah was making the price for ground offensive and escalation too high for IDF to currently handle.

Hezbollah achieved strategic victory if it truly ceases and Israel doesn't act in areas it's occupying.

If the idea is their is a cease-fire but Israeli troops keep the territory they have occupied and Hezbollah can't attack them, then their is a problem

They're continuing to attack in southern Lebanon and Hezbollah is also continuing to repel the invasion and counter attack

I don't see Hezbollah accepting a status quo where southern Lebanon can be violated. They wouldn't have gone in if they sought so. They are fighting for a comprehensive ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal.
