Israeli and Lebanese delegations are discussing ways to dismantle Hezbollah during a meeting between the two sides.

According to sources familiar with the details of the meeting, it is being held in a positive atmosphere, and there are some understandings between the two parties.

The American plan is to implement a training and rehabilitation program for the Lebanese army, enabling it to confront Hezbollah and dismantle its influence within the state, whether in southern Lebanon or in the Beirut area.

For this purpose, the US administration is preparing a plan under which American forces will train the Lebanese army to carry out this mission.

Israeli officials say that Israel, under American pressure, will not carry out attacks in the southern suburbs of Beirut as part of the existing understandings.

In return, there is American approval for the continued presence of Israeli army ground forces in southern Lebanon, within the expanded security strip currently controlled by the Israeli army.

If the plan materializes, the Lebanese army will provide the foot soldiers (cannon fodder) and the US air force will be supporting them from the air. The Israelis will keep occupying the area they currently hold in Southern Lebanon. Basically, "Israelis" will have someone else to fight Hezbollah on their behalf.
