Lebanon-Israel War | 2023-present

it's a miracle there is any Hezbollah resistance left in these border areas after 1 year of total carpet bombing of any building in that entire area by Israel and the evacuation of all Lebanese civilians

Plenty of tunnels like what Hamas created in Gaza to survive the bombing.

They know for years the handicap they have with Israeli air power no doubt tunnels and other tactics are being employed.

difference is Gaza is tiny so in no area did civilian population entirely flee, south Lebanon is almost entirely empty of civilians now

Not surprising Hezbollah is winning as they have the motivation, terrain and weapons.

Unfortunately Hamas only had the motivation and was only able to partially make up the lack of good terrain with its extensive tunnel network.

It's shaping up to become the siege of Lebanon. Doesn't have to look entirely like the one on Gaza is, but will have similar effects.

This is a US led war of reshaping the region through extermination/terrorism/starvation. It's not existential in nature for Israel. It's trying to assert and strengthen a Israeli hegemony over the region.

Its seems to be a thing for empires whoich often dosent want to give up control of colonies and colony like entities. Recall what happened when Vietnamese fought for independence against the French, Algerian, also that against the French. Even the US itself fought a bloody independence conflict against United Kingdom back in the days.

ATGM like Almas makes a big difference

Yasin-105 is good but short range and not so destructive. means Hamas fighters need to get within visual range of Israeli armoured targets (ideally < 100m).

Iranian Almas ATGM with 10km range offers much greater protection for Hezbollah fighters and can be used to hit targets beyond visual range (and in Israel) thanks to man in the loop mode

It was predicted that this weapon would cook Zionists inside their armoured vehicles, with or without "Trophy" system and it did not disappoint.

It's a superb system, and the amount of damage it can do is immense, it makes invasion of southern Lebanon a nightmare for Israel and it's why Israel constantly reverts to air bombing of Lebanon as punishment for it's problems

Once again, as Israel is again under immense pressure they go crying to mama America and now want to come up with plan where the U.S targets supplies into Lebanon for Israel

Correct. Yasin-105 loses accuracy and effectiveness against Israeli armor outside of close range.

Hamas ATGM teams are more easily identified as well due to terrain of Gaza. And inside Gaza it's crowded. You will have to maneuver through blocks of homes once Israeli forces invade into cities and refugee camps.

I feel like Hamas did not think well into it about a large scale ground invasion and how to counter it. Or resources simply served as a big constraint. They had emergency contingency plans to go back into underground warfare. Like pre-2006 Gaza. And they're able to regroup on some areas still which means strong local influence. But destroying Israeli armor is very important and has to be something the entire resistance can challenge and neutralize.

Hezbollah can strike at the border areas from deeper within southern Lebanon. Lebanese terrain and the Iranian ALMAS system provide this advantage which is crucial in slowing down IDF advance. This is why the IDF is now going scorched earth on the Lebanese city of Khiam. They lack proper ground manuvering tactics and don't do good in urban warfare. They're following a older philosophy of deploying as much firepower as can be to break enemy lines, but it's more like destroy exisistence of neighborhoods and entire villages. Because their ground forces can't follow through if enemy lines are broken, they will be pushed back again in ground combat. So it's more like break enemy by extermination of immediate vicinity of civilians and infrastructure.

Israel is out to exterminate Shia Muslims of Lebanon and Sunni Muslims of Gaza. Sunnis did not care about Sunnis of Gaza. Shias are helping in some ways but not in grand scale that is required by all Muslims.

Please don't just watch your heroes and warriors fight a brutal occupation and vile enemy backed by vile global actors. They're also there to set a example to you to inspire you to do something and bring about change so you can take the initiative against this vile enemy. And not just watch Shias of Lebanon and Sunnis of Gaza take on full brunt of entire Western force to stop it in its tracks and slow it down. Before God forbid in a few years they go after entire Muslim nations.

Why is the thread title Lebanon-Israel War rather than Hezbollah-Israel War?

It's not like Hezbollah doesn't exist anymore. Nor is it the Lebanese Army that Israel is fighting.

Because Hizbulllah was dismantled and destroyed by Israel. We had to change the name.
