Lessons for Pakistan from the Israel/Iran conflict of June 2025

It's because missiles and drones and good radars multi layered backed by satalites and Artificial intelligence are less costly than buying and maintaining 200 new fighters
Eg
200 fighters mid fourth generation. Cost 20 billion dollars
Multi layered air defense with radars drones etc 10 billion dollars
And fighter jets require regular maintenance.

Lessons: You can't intercept all the ballistic misssles.

In addition to the above;

10. Have good and reliable Allies. The reason US is so successful is due to allies.

11. Be GOOD TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS and Good relationship with them. On the other Hand, Iran had issues with ALL ITS NEIGHBOURS. It has issues with all Gulf Nations. It has issues with Pakistan resulting in PAF bombing them. It has issues with Turkey. It has issues with Azerbijan. It has issues with A-Stan. It has issues with Iraq, in fact it help US kill thousands of Iraqis when US attcked Iraq. It has issues with Syria, it has issues Lebanon, and so forth.
Now that Iran is under attack, NO ONE HAS HELPED except for issuing useless statements. Even China and Russia have sat on the sidelines while Iran's top command is getting butchered and its nuclear facilities is being reduce to rubble. This is what you get when your behaviour is behaviour of a lunatic.

12. Keep your mouth shut on sensitive issues. Now Iran could have kept quiet and work on its nuclear program. But instead it shouted and cried about its nuclear program.

Lessons for Pakistan:
1. Don't start a fight you can't finish
2. Tighten up Internal Security.
3. Airforce and IADS are worth their weight in platinum. Better radars, better placement.
4. Invest in LEO constellation project w/China for dual purpose technology.
5. Ballistic missiles are overrated if they can't target enemies critical infrastructure.
6. Stricter controls on hobby drones and amateur drones - stricter CAA registration requirements.
7. Install counter UAS/UAV systems near vital installations
8. Civilian (Citizen) Preparendness
9. Educate public and personnel about dangers of making and uploading videos of equipment placement, troop movement or enemy ordinance impacts.

ratio of airfore : missile force, should be 1:1 , 2:1, 2:2 or 1:2?

both air force and missile force are important!

Put it another way, Israel took down Iran with just an airforce. Irans damage with missiles was limited compared to what Israel was doing. Irans ability to engage Israel was decreasing with the destruction of its launchers, whereas Israel maintained a very high temp of operations.

Israel will revisit its defence shield of course, but the consequence(ie measured in $ loss caused is massively in Israels favour ).

I feel Pakistan needs the ability to carry out long range attacks with the PAF just as Israel showed flying across thousands kms to strike Iran.

Primary reason is to strike deep into India, secondary have an ability to deal with a situation in the mideast.

We already have missiles that reach deep into the Indian mainland. What do you envisage when you think of long-range strikes?

On a serious note

Airforce is vital and Pakistan has a good plan, alongside AWACS and EW, ground radars

A.D is vital, Including layered A.D against multiple threats from drones to missiles to jets

Development of drones, hypersonic missiles

Clear up of internal threats, let me a clarify a MERCILESS clear up of threats inside the country

Good military planning is essential, don't let old men who don't understand modern warfare guide your military planning

Make good allies and friends you can rely on
In wartime this is essential

Have back up facilities to produce vital equipment

Motivate and unite your population for war

and start off by getting rid of dual nationals in government and traitors be thrown out

Invest in counter intelligence.

There may be 5th envelopes in our midst providing adversaries with sensitive information.

we need to learn a lot from this, the is long and growing.
  • Strengthen Early Warning Systems – Iran failed to detect incoming Israeli strikes in time. Pakistan must invest in multi-layered intelligence (SIGINT, HUMINT, GEOINT).
  • Fix Counter-Intelligence Gaps – Prevent enemy infiltration of critical military and scientific infrastructure.
  • Improve Inter-Agency Coordination – Seamless information flow between ISI, Air Force, Army, and Naval intelligence is essential.
  • Monitor Strategic Installations – Establish 24/7 surveillance and internal vetting at nuclear, radar, and missile sites.
  • Don’t Rely on Static SAM Systems Alone – Iran’s air defense was static and easily bypassed. Pakistan must use mobile, layered air defense.
  • Deploy HQ-9B/HQ-19 Effectively – These must be integrated with radar, AWACS, and EW systems to be effective.
  • Invest in Anti-Stealth Radar – Israeli F-35s evaded detection; Pakistan needs passive radar and VHF/L-band systems.
  • Layered Defense is Crucial – Integrate short-, medium-, and long-range systems across cities, borders, and strategic zones.
  • Permanent QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) – Pakistan should have QRA aircraft on standby 24/7 to intercept intrusions.
  • Fast-Track Modern Fighter Integration – Maximize deployment of JF-17 Block III, J-10C, and J-35 (future).
  • Advance EW Capabilities – Israeli EW overwhelmed Iranian radars. Pakistan must further develop jamming, spoofing, and counter-EW tech.
  • Ensure Long-Range Strike Capability – Strengthen standoff weapons like Ra’ad II, Babur ALCMs, and H-4 glide bombs.
  • Modernize War Doctrine – Shift from reactive defense to proactive deterrence and preemption capability.
  • Decentralize Command & Control – Use mobile and hardened command centers to survive first strikes.
  • War-Gaming Against Stealth/Surprise – Train for scenarios involving F-35, loitering munitions, and cyber-attacks.
  • Establish Cyber Command – Israel used cyber tools for suppression; Pakistan must defend and counter in the digital domain.
  • Electronic Surveillance & Passive Detection – Develop homegrown EW drones, jammers, and ELINT systems.
  • Control the Narrative Early – Israel dominated global opinion. Pakistan must build a strategic communications wing for defense messaging.
  • Counter Propaganda & Disinformation – Develop rapid-response teams to fight digital perception wars.
  • Boost National Morale & Civil Defense Awareness – Prepare the public with drills, shelters, and awareness campaigns.
  • Harden Nuclear & C4I Sites – Build underground and mobile structures to protect critical infrastructure.
  • Redundancy is Key – Backup systems for radars, missiles, and command networks are essential for survivability.
  • Build Diplomatic Shield – Strengthen alliances with China, Turkey, Gulf States, and Central Asia to deter aggression.
  • Neutralize Enemy Influence in Region – Monitor and contain potential enemy staging or intelligence gathering from nearby countries.
  • Leverage Soft Power – Use Pakistan's global image as a nuclear state with restraint to build international goodwill.

For all this we first need an economy. Economy kaput hai...

Let's fix that and all these things will slot in place.

and start off by getting rid of dual nationals in government and traitors be thrown out

Dual nationals certainly need high levels of scrutiny, because they can be influenced abroad

But let's be fair, they've done little and send billions to Pakistan every year, come that to the lannati afghani kaum

If the Afghans did this to Iran, imagine what they would do to Pakistan

We can no longer take the risk

Lets finish dual nationality like India. If super c*nts like Musharraf, Ganja and Bajwa had only 1 citizenship and knew they had to live in Pakistan after retirement, maybe they'd be more careful with corruption.

All the elites will prefer to keep their western citizenship over Pakistani. Gareebon ka mulk bachyga with people who have Pakistan first mentality, so we can rebuild the country from ground up.

Most of the current missiles which have long range are BMs and purpose for nuclear delivery. Pak needs a hypersonic long range conventional missile.

The other thing I would like is a low observable platform which can fly over contested hostile airspace at a long range, J35 may fulfil this role or a stealth long range drone.
