Los Angeles Clashes between ICE and demonstrators, Trump sends in the National Guard.

Bangers. Being passed off as "peaceful protestors".

These guys are really dumb. these are the compromising pictures that will have them lose most of the American publics sympathy. (If the community was smart it would police its young people not to make these scenes and give fodder for Trump and Fox News to us)

Hard working people that lived in the shadows for decades, some that came as farm labor or factory workers but don’t have their paperwork in order due to our congressional gridlock have public sympathy. They are victims of the system.

But these knuckleheads repping the Mexican flag against the police only hurt any grievances they have with the process. Public opinion is being shaped and they aren’t helping their cause. I remember BLM, mostly peaceful, and a redress of legitimate grievances.

But the scrutiny this mass event in LA will put on immigrants will lead to drag nets picking up all kinds of people, overwhelmingly innocent hardworking people, it’s how things happen, just like after 9/11.

Totally made up name
No. Not at all. From Brittannica.

Further, the US paid Mexico for the land. USD$15M at the time.

That was followed by the additional land purchase known as the Gadsden Purchase under the terms of the Treaty of La Mesilla in 1853 which now makes up the present-day US southern border.

So no, the "gringos" didn't steal the land. The "gringos" paid for it after defeating Mexico in the Mexican-American War and followed by a subsequent purchase.

If that money is spent on helping Latin America improve its economy, there will be fewer instances of illegal immigration

Dude... who do you think supplied South Americans the money to build skylines like this....China?

What you see there is normal. I've spent a LOT of time in LA over the course of my career and the last several years, it was absolutely the norm. Mexican flags everywhere. At one high school, they took DOWN the American flag and replaced it with the Mexican flag. School officials did nothing.

These people openly flaunt their status. Even where my Phoenix metro home is located, it's somewhat regular to see one of these people flying a Mexican flag from their vehicles. Have even seen it in Chicago on a number of occasions.

They get NO sympathy from me. Gang violence is on the rise. Phoenix is on track for another record year of police-involved shootings. The west and southwest valley is heavily infiltrated with Mexican gangs; most of which are illegals. The south side is predominately black. Both sides clash often.

Not sure which BLM riots you saw that were peaceful. The ones we had in Scottsdale were not.

Due process is the high level principle.

Step down one or two levels, and we will find that 'due process' differs between citizens and non-citizens. Do you know the differences?
No, the constitution makes no distinction between citizen and non-citizen when applying due process clause of the 4th and 15th amendments which guarantees due process rights to all individuals within the country, regardless of their immigration status or citizenship. This includes non-citizens, including those who undocumented. In fact supreme court has reaffirmed this in subsequent ruling.

And if we were to take your contention at face value then all legal residents and visitors to this country will have no legal rights and can be disappeared, killed, jailed and/or tortured in perpetuity without appearing in front of a court/judge if the the due process clause doesn't extend to them.

New York BLM protests, the ones I saw, stayed peaceful.

I don’t understand why the government gives up on assimilation programs, at least amongst the kids. It takes a generation, but the kids know their parents are from somewhere else, but they should feel happy to think of themselves as Americans, of whatever origin, but Americans nonetheless.

Yeah the southwest real seems to have been left ungoverned. I’ve been visiting California for the past 30 years and it seems hopelessly lost, with a few safe enclaves here and there. They can’t even figure out their homeless problem. The World Cup and LA Olympics will just be embarrassing. It’s a shame what has been done to such a great state and region.

Our congressional leadership never had the balls to accept that we needed a certain amount of immigration and how to let them in legally.

Don't you mean it was native American before the Hispanics stole it.

Oops...forgot it isn't cool to blame anything on the non-gringos.

And the native American tribes were busy killing each other before the Europeans came who used their divisions to conquer and colonize them.

That's part of the problem. This whole issue is like just about every other hot button issue the main one being abortion.

No idea how long you've been in the US; so bear with me. Abortion since the Roe v Wade decision has ALWAYS been a hot button issue for the left. Rather than codify the decision into law when they had numerous opportunities, they chose to leave it open and use it as a hot button campaign issue "REPUBLICANS WANT TO KILL WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!" And, when the matter was overturned and turned back to the states, where it should have been all along, what happened? same rhetoric and no women were killed by Republicans.

What was the purpose of DACA when Obama was president? Same thing. Democrats could have addressed the issue then and been done with it but guess what? No more hot button issue there.

So here we go again. More bukkake theater and more organized protests.

The whole thing disgusts me.

I have a theory on that. The reason is constant immigration.

When you look at kids in school, they are fully integrated. There is almost no racism among them. But when they grow up, people separate into ethnicities.

The reason is the constant flow of new immigrants from the old country. These older immigrants rejuvenate old prejudices and poison young people in their community.

It just amazes me how informed some non-citizens are about US history than citizens.

This history is well documented, especially in the Conquistador conquest of South America.

Been in the US practically my whole life. Yeah the failure to address issues also irritates me as well. But on the right we also had a lot of theater. Clinton left Bush with a budget surplus and record low debt. Then Bush made a mess of the Afghan war, launched a needless war in Iraq, and let the banks run wild, with the 2007-2008 Great Recession to end out his time in office. Both parties have really screwed the country, especially for the past 25 years.
