According to Statista, as of 2023 (latest year data is available), a little more than 27% of the population of California as a whole was born outside the US.

Specific to LA, it is close to 40%.

So, given that breakdown, of the 3.77M people in Los Angeles, 1.51M were born outside the US.

What do you suppose the number of illegals is that makes up that 1.51M? According to several sources, that number is estimated to be as high as 900,000. In Los Angeles. In LA County as a whole, the total number of illegals is estimated to be 951,000.

That means the vast majority live in LA proper therefore chances are VERY GOOD a lot of those protestors are the very people who shouldn't be here in the first place.
